So where does a truggy belong then? C2 is the right class.

There? Probably not. But here you would and do see them often.

Class-2 “Trail”
• Description - A stock vehicle that has been modified to become a capable trail rated rig and is not necessarily street legal .

Doesn't have to be street legal

I used to drive my toyota truggy to school almost every day. In ID and AZ. Never had a problem.

Would a wraith with a ladder frame be class 2 legal? I have a poison spider cage and a scx10 frame and need a class 2 rig tomorrow.

No one answered the first question of it all. So making
A wraith with a ladder frame =class two however remove the dove rear add scx axles or yotas under it gives a skinny enough to add minder fenders and new body gives the ability to have outer fenders all in turn allowing a wraith into class one. Clearly bumper and othe things most of all a windshield! But yeah current project

c1 has alot needed to finish but it will be a leafed ladder c1 un bobbed tubed chassis sorry for my wife's desk is a bit.. ocd

Class one is "STREET". Do you really think this would be something driven to the trail? You need to have a fully intact OEM body don't ya think?

Wow, some people really just aren't seeing the bigger picture here.

Say it like this, if a State Trooper were to pull you over in your rock buggy and look in the federally mandated location for the VIN number, would they find it? Keep in mind, it is HIGHLY ILLEGAL to tamper with the vin plate in any way! You can't just pop it off and rivet it to your tube concoction that you have created.

No, a wraith has no business in class 2. If you were to allow it in C2, why not allow it in C1 with some 1.55 tires on it. I think that the current rules are in the best spirit of competition.

So to what you are saying, Vin number which can be removed and placed back on by a licensed mechanic, as well as dashboard swapped out and replaced then needed vin to be reattached after a inspection to a brand new dash that is just a quarter inch plate with tube crossing all of which is perfectly legal in california and ohio the two places I crawl in and drive my cars and trucks at, the requirements are if you even with a licensed mechanic tamper it requires a full inspection of all location due to year, my buddy in ohio has a jeep all thats jeep of it is the vin and gas peddle its a street legal 4x4, this wraith that I posted has a full ladder frame and leaf springs like a 1:1 of this rig would have, now I know I mentioned two states which cali being more strict then most, open wheeled vehicles need hot rod tags or mud flaps with a 50/50 quarter "last i checked" as for full tube or opened doors are allowed with visible seat belts and you wont get a ticket until someone sticks their arm out where a door should be.

relocating a vin number is always as much paper work as buying a house.. if not more, when riding in a raised vehicle like my 81 sub I had the slightly painted over vin "on door" relocated to the foot plate of the driver side door, the dash plate was duplicated and mounted on the inner finder wall as well as rear axle which is easier to see then where the stock location is. I do agree wraith would require ALOT to make it c1 which I do plan on following every roll to the T and expect it to sit in my truck at the first "no it may not" but keep in mind, you may not know the person who is sitting in the truggy next to you at a red light and you may only see two or 4 pillar bars but what you don't see is that guy may of tubed the whole thing on top of a frame and hid it under the body panels to protect his work of art.
