| Course information and question thread. Course information and event itinerary: 1. We will be running 4 courses per class. 2. No finals courses will be run, your score at the end of the four courses will be you final score. 3. We will be deducting 50% of your scale points per course....so if you have a 50 point truck and you are running 4 courses, you will end up with -100 scale points deducted from your driving score for the day. A 40 point truck will have -80 scale points total, etc. 4. There will be a scale point cap of 80 points in Class 1, 60 points in Class 2, and 60 points in Class 3. Event itinerary: Thursday night: Check in at hotel. Possible dinner and meet-and-greet for pizza and beer? Get lots of sleep. Friday morning: Tech inspection from 7:30 to 8:30 am. Drivers meeting at 8:45. Class 1 starts at 9:00. We will be running 4 courses per class. All 4 courses will be running at the same time. Once a truck gets halfway through the course, the next one will start. This is the only way we will be able to get 60+ rigs through 4 courses. We will run Class 1 until everyone is finished. Lunch break (approx 30 minutes). Class 3 will start. 4 courses all running at the same time just like Class 1. Run until we are finished. Clean up and head back to the hotel. Dinner break. After dinner we will be meeting back at the hotel conference room to set up the Concours. There will be separate tables set up for class 1, class 2, and class 3/TTC. You will be allowed to vote and drop the voting paper into a box for tabulation. We will have a short meeting and head off for bed. Saturday morning: Tech from 7:30 to 8:30. Drivers meeting at 8:45. Class 2 will start at 9:00. All 4 Class 2 courses will be run at the same time once again until done. Lunch break (30 minutes) We will then be setting up the "King of Lucia" courses. We will have a 1.9 Class and a 2.2 Class. 1.9 Class starts first. It will be a mass start. Rules and info on the King of Lucia to come.... 2.2 will start approx 1 hour after the 1.9 is finished. After we are done, there will be a dinner break before returning to the hotel conference room (around 8:00) for Concours awards, driving awards, and raffle. Sunday morning: TTC in Canby. Meet at site at 8:00 for check in. Drivers meeting at 8:30. Start at 9:00. Hope to finish by 5:00, but I can't promise anything. This itinerary is subject to change, but will give you an idea of what is happening and when. Last edited by War Pig; 02-02-2012 at 09:39 PM. |

Some loose rules for the "King of Lucia" race: The course will consist of rock, mud, water, sand, logs, etc....just about everything you can imagine in a long course, and it will take approximately 45 minutes to complete. You will want good boots or shoes (you will be running). There as much mud and water as possible. A few things about the rules for this competition: * Vehicle must fit 2012 SORCCA scale rules. 1.9 Class must fit Class 1 or 2 rules. 2.2 Class must fit Class 3 rules. * You should have a winch. If you don't have one, you will need to run with a partner that is willing to help you through the tough sections. You must right your vehicle with a winch (if you roll over) or talk someone else into righting your rig for you with their vehicle. Sorry....no hand of God in this one. * Vehicle should be waterproof or fairly water resistant. There will not be any sections where you HAVE to go through water deeper than 2"', but the fast line may be deeper than that. In other words, if your rig is waterproof, you will have an advantage. * The start will be a mass start for each class. This will be a timed event, first person over the finish line wins. No actual judges on course, but we will have people on course handing out playing cards at 5 different checkpoints. You must have all 5 cards at the finish or you are disqualified. Best hand in each class wins a cool prize. * You may drive over other vehicles and bump them out of the way, but good sportsmanship will be appreciated. * You must drive through the gates without touching them. If you touch a gate, you must drive around and drive back through them until you do it without touching them. If you knock a gate over or move it you must replace it before progressing. * There will be a spot on course where you must drive in reverse for an extended amount of time, PRACTICE! * Battery replacement is fine but must be done on course along with all repairs. No removing rigs and carrying them off course for any reason.....you must carry tools and parts on you during the race. This will give you an idea of what the KOL will be about. Registration will be at the same time as registration for Class 1,2,and 3. The KOL will have a lower cost than the classes and therefore won't include an event t-shirt. sounds like this is going to be a lot of fun. A group of 4 from the Carolinas will be headed that way for the competition and we are looking forward to it.

Hi, so I have a question. If you were only going to run C2 and the King of Lucia event, would it be possible to show up Friday night, intead of Thursday? I can't miss school to go, unfortunately, but if I can arrive Friday night, I can make it. Thanks in advance!

As long as you are there to run your classes on time it doesnt matter what day you show up.

I'd love to do some night scale runs but with all the work that goes into these comps, it's difficult to gather the energy to run at night. Spring Park at night near my house would be badass!

I took off the whole week, so I'm planning on hitting up all of the ORCRC hangouts I can find! I'm hoping I can post up closer to September and get some other guys in on the action.
