Default Is it Legal Thread...

Thought I would start a Is it Legal tread for everyone who's attending the SWSC...

So I'll start with my ? IMO this would count as a bumper on my flatbed even tho its part of the flatbed structure ? I've seen a lot of rigs built this way and still get bumper points... I'ts got a cross bar that ties into the chassis it also ties into the plate with hole for my hitch...

Here's some pics... What do you guy's on the scale committee ? I just want to make sure it's right

I would totally count it! But I'm a bit biased because my rear "bumper" is very similar

I would say it's the rear tube on the bed, if you were to remove it there is nothing to hold the bed together in the rear. I have really never really seen a flatbed with a bumper it's always more like a tow hitch, I think maybe adding I little more would make it look better, and more like a bumper and not part if the bed but that's just my .02

Hey I asked you about it once and showed you in person and you said you would count mine because of the diagonal braces...

I'd love to see a picture of the entire flatbed. It's the Utah guys call since they are the ones putting this event on.

Fixed mine with a little bolt on bumper as wide as the widest point on my windshield I'ts the best bumper I could build with one arm When I recover from my surgery in a few months I'll build a better one, so I hope it works

It looks better than I could do with 2 arms, adding that makes it look separate and not part of the bed.

If I'm teching come to my line I'll count it as a bumper...in class 2. The dropped loop is wider then the chassis rails so that is a bumper IMO legal for cC2. Now in Class 1 I think what you did LB adding that additional bar is more like a bumper for Class 1.

Jerry I know you have seen a bumper on a flat bed...you live in So. Utah county...although they probably are a 2x6 held on by bailing wire.

Can my dig be left in the rig as long as it's disabled or does it need to come out for the king of peaks?
I will have my winch hooked up instead of the dig because I only have a 3 channel radio for now.

I'm pretty sure you can

Thanks Matt and Luis, I do agree and it was a simple fix even with 1 arm I kind of got ganged up on over at the Johnson's shop on Saturday about it lol... So I took their advice and started a thread... It's going to be much easier to fix things now instead of the day of the comp I just think it's much easier to all be on the same page because I think everyone reads the rules to benefit their self lol... I totally support the rules committee and appreciate all the work they do to put it all together

So if your not sure on something post up some pics...

Jerry is a Nazi tho, I do agree with that Just kidding Jerry

you can keep your dig in not a big deal. I'm not sure on the ruling for the king of peaks but I bet you can use dig if you wanted too!
Tim would have to answer that.

Scale accessories, I was reading the scale comp rules question and answer thread and accesories came into question.

I was just wondering how these would be viewed and scored. I know how I plan on counting them, just wanted to confirm ahead of time so I am on the same page as the rest of the tech folks.

Here are my thoughts.

Tool box-functioning or scale dodads-------------------1 point
Pad lock-sale dodads--------------------------------------1 point
Tools(all as a group)-scale dodads---------------------1 point
BBQ-functioning or scale dodads------------------------1 point
BBQ tools(all as a group)-scale dodads----------------1 point
Lighter fluid-scale dodads--------------------------------1 point

I want to give 00racer props, these are his creation and will fit in my C1 theme perfect.

LMK if I am correct in my thinking.
