1st SCRCC 2013-14 Series Comp & Club Meeting

From what I'm seeing so far it looks like we've got a toss up between the 21st and 28th. We really need to get more of the club together for this meeting and comp!!!

As much as I hate to wait even longer...how would Oct. 5th work for everyone?

If it works for the group I am game but if not than I would like to start sooner as I want to get as many comps in as we can before I leave.

Boohoo...where you're going will probably have 100x more places to crawl than here...of course that's not very hard to achieve

OK here's what we're going to do.

We will hold the 1st comp of the new season on September 21st at Neal Shoals. IF we have at least 7 drivers or 75% of the club (we were averaging 9 SC drivers per comp last year) there we will also hold the meeting that morning. This isn't the way I had it planned in my head, but the location in Columbia is something I'm still working on for the time being. We will meet up at 8:30 that morning in the circle at the end of the road and that way we'll have places to sit, we can hear each other without yelling, etc.

Right now this is who has said they can make it on the 21st:

So we only need one more person to attend...and I'm assuming that Bruce (BDN) will probably be able to make it as well so that'd be 8 which gives us some wiggle room in case someone can't make it.



We will plan to hold the 2nd comp on Oct. 5th with the location to be determined. I just want to give everyone the opportunity to plan for it with plenty of notice. This will get 2 comps in before the Shootout at the Ocoee Whitewater Center later in October I say the location should be somewhere with rip rap/loose stone that is similar to what we will see at the Shootout comp...so Dravo Dam comes to mind, but I'm open to suggestions on this.

Last time I was there those rocks were under water. But if it's not, I like it. Great place to practice for Ocoee.

Yep looks like were gonna be short on locations this year. With that said...EVERYONE needs to keep their eyes open for places with rocks that we might be able to use!

So realistically what is our status of usable current locations?

Off the top of my head

Neal Shoals
Falls Park
Rock Quarry?? (never had a series comp there before)
Boost Mobile (greenville)
Bald Rock Lower & Upper

I have thought about contacting the guy over by anderson that we comped at a couple years ago Granny gears I believe. I think it would be fun to comp there again as well if we could.

Oh! I almost forgot about all the AZ rock I checked in my bag from the Nats trip
