Glendale Shoals GTG - January 11th 2015!

Carolina Scale Crawlers would like to start out the New Year with another GTG @ Glendale Shoals Preserve in Spartanburg, SC! The date will be Jan 11th, this should give us some time to test and tune before KrawlFest! This location is off of Emma Cudd & Country Club Road. 34.940465, -81.837499 - GOOGLE MAPS!

We will be running the FTL format similar to the last GTG @ The Warehouse, however this will have more of a Recon inspired style. There will be names randomly drawn @ sign in to help determine where you start. Hit a gate go to the back of the line, take a tow or winch to sacrifice only 1 position. You will have up to 5 attempts to clear each gate, if exceeded you lose only 1 position.


Driver's Meeting will be held @ 9AM, we will start driving by 9:30 SHARP! We will break for lunch around 12-1 o'clock, probably do the Lil Caesars thing because it is just that easy.. Please bring 5$ if you plan on eating lunch, this will cover food and drinks!

After lunch I figured we could run a bounty hill climb just like the Rum Runners event! We will use both of the hills (similar to the past TTC) only running 10 gates instead of 20. Whoever finishes the course without hitting any gates/fastest time will win a CA$H PRIZE! There will be a 2$ buy in and there is no limit to how many times you can run.. So lets put those rigs to the test for fastest on the hill.. Make sure to bring plenty of 1$ bills people.

Should make for a fun time and some more great footage, let's Do Work drivers!

The flats Offroad park is having an open ride for 1:1 rigs that day. I think we will be there in the jeeps that day. If we hadn't just had the comp at Glendale I would be more inclined to get out there. But I would like to mix it up. Thanks for standing up and putting a ride together though Robert, I'm sure there will be a good turnout. Wish I could have made the event at the warehouse, I really want to get back out there.

Word, well considering how little input I have gotten from everyone it has been hard to plan to meet everyone's needs & schedule! I wish we could get a weekend where it is completely free for everyone but I know how rare that happens. It is also tough to find new crawling places that are legal, have enough parking space, and especially being close/local. Would love to crawl someplace different but without any advice and input from people I am stuck with what I know will work best at the time..

I need to get you in touch with Carolina driveline, they have a huge man made concrete rock garden and obstacle course in spartanburg he said we can use anytime

The Flats is a pretty cool place. I went there back when they first opened it.

Brooks if you can pull some strings to get us into the Fairgrounds that would be EPIC. Competed there a few times and we used to go there on Fridays. That place is sick..... The big hill has some big steep climbs and will trash a rig if it flops..... because its flopping for awhile....

When I asked a few of the comp rig guys about having a comp there, they said last time they tried to get it that they were going to have to rent the place for the day and it was ridiculously expensive.

Tom is a great business partner of ours at OffroadSC . It's been about a year since he mentioned it to me. I'll get with him next week and get some details.
