Hey you have been kind of quiet out there. Are you building or taking a break?

Bangin' away here. ATM, I'm putting together a couple PID temp controller systems to run forming ovens, kilns, etc.... and have just poured another 3000* concrete wall into a tiny oven for forming links and small plastic stuff. Looks like T's links will be the first in that.

The heat treating kiln will be next. That will give me capabilities that I need to pull off a real surprise for you guys this winter. I've gotten serious here.

What's new up North?

At this point I am playing and testing. If everything goes as planned I will have some ideas and designs for MT link packages. Is this what your working on? I know there is not much market for them but coming up with a good design is always in the bag of tricks.

Still in R&D. You will be the first to know. Got a couple of issues to finalize.

Finished the 400*c controller. 1 more (1200*c) to go.

Ebayed in the relay (SSR), the controller and the sensor... the rest is salvage. The box is an old PC power supply, painted with the dregs left in 2 spray cans. The switch now defeats the 5VDC (old phone charger), which kills the relay and the fan... allowing passive monitoring.

It holds the temp in my (nearly finished) ex-toaster oven within 2*c, so I'm almost ready to play with forming.

Great build. Although the exMT is an RTR crawler, this build reminds me of the time when you had to strip axles out of Monster Trucks to build a crawler. Crawlers perform a lot better now, but the build threads were definitely more interesting back then before everything got so figured-out.

Thanks, man! And, I agree. I really wish I had been into this from the pioneer days, some of those old threads were the essence of cooperative innovation... R&D at it's finest.

T's links came today. Couldn't resist mounting them... time to make a stand, and get to work.

Looking good!!! I'm almost ready to get started working the old EXTM again. I finally have a work bench to build on... Just a little more work in the garage and I'll have access to everything!!!

At the moment, I'm fully stocked on the parts and materials. There is a bit of lead time, but it would be no problem to make you a set.

PM me if you want more info.
