Thanks CPE those motor mounts. They worked great....Awesome!!!!!1!!!

On a side note I bought the Pro-Line Blazer body and it's about 2" to short. Should I shorten the overall length of the chassis (it's at 14 1/4") What is the standard for a 2.2 crawler?

The Reign R/C K2-3s is 12" long and that's a pretty common chassis. I'd say cut the chassis to fit.

I'm a little confused though, the K2-3L is 16.25" and it fit nicely under my Proline Blazer. Thread

The chassis fit's. I should have said the overall length of the truck is 14 1/4" axle to axle. So when the suspension cycle's the front servo mashs the body. Plus the wheel openings are off. I'd have to do alot of custom trimming which I'm not opposed to.

Oh, the wheelbase is too long for the body. Gotcha.

That's your personal preference, if you a going for a hardcore crawler look then leave the wb and cut the body to fit. It's your call imo.

Many scale chassis (like the Reigns) have a 12" wb.

I've built a 2.2 Clod with a 14" wb that I still love. I've also built 2.2 clods with 12.5" wb and 11.75" wb.

I think I'm going to cut the body to clear the suspension. I should have the body done and painted by this weekend. then I'll post a pic.

Thread hijack on......
Interesting Jeep - Wild Oats..... Are you Rod by any chance?

Hijack off..

Gozer, If you are going for the crawler look, the extended wheelbase, flat cut wheel wells is the only way to go. Here is a Toyota crawler that was cut by an acquaintance of mine years back. The Mantis 1... I didn't do my 1:1 Blazer that way, but I wasn't running 44" tires either, mine was hogged out pretty big for 38s.

No build thread just a picture thread. Post any questions there if you want.

It looks great with the cut and the wheelbase. I would just like to see it sit lower.

I was going to take it out and try it tonight but I broke the servo saver trying to remove the screw. Go figure! The new one should be here tomorrow.
On making it sit lower I'll snag some 6/32 standoff's from work tomorrow.

OK it's been a while and it still isn't finished. But I have tacken into consideration alot of the things said in this thread and others. So I redid the chassis a bit. I left the old upper links on the top of the the C's and shortened them a half inch. then made a new set of upper links placing them on the upper link mount of the axle and then mounting them to the cantileaver mount. Here are a few pic's.

Let me know what you think.
