Default Quad Servo Set-up (maybe it can be called the renoir way!!!)

Hey all;

I brought this truck to a GTG and the steering setup did very well for me. I have not seen this done on a Clod before. If it has then nevermind.

Advantages;
- double torque
- more efficient then a running 1 1/4 scale servo per axle
- very cost effective
- ability to run servo savers, basically you have twice the torque of one servo saver without exposing your servo to the harm of just running a servo horn

If there is any interest I will show how the second servo mounts.

That looks cool man. Are you running rear steer? If so, what ESC are you running to handle 4 servos?

I can see one poking out on the back axle. Looks like a super duty esc.

Have you noticed the servos "fighting" eachother due to slight misalignments in the system?

the servo savers would eliminate any misalignment.

im only doign 2ws, but im thinking about doing this.

so thats 2 57.6 ko propo servos at 6v. thats 115.2 oz. of torque, sweet! just need to make sure if i reverse the motor power (red/black) wiring that they will go the same direction. i do this because my radio/reciever is made for rear steer.

im only doing 2ws for 2.2 class.

I ran 2 servos on my TXT 2 years ago. Works good but, 1 high torque servo is lighter and less junk on your rig

How is it more efficient? I assume you mean power wise, do you have real numbers to support this? Power to torque ratios?
A hi-tec 805 is what? $40? 1/4 scale servos are cost effective also, and produce more than double the torque of your 115oz claim of these combined.

hey there

The tubes came on a JPS chassis I bought, but I think they are made by Inet.

I know its more efficient because one RX pack last for 2+ hours of running compared to 30 min using two quarter scale servos. The servos on there a Digitals and have 200 oz of torque, each.

I buy these servos for 20ish a piece shipped. I just placed another order for 12 because I am so please with them.

I going to try running Moab Xls as soon as I get my adapters, then I might replace the extra servos saver with a straight horn, just to get a little more direct response.

To bad this is not an original thought, oh well.
