I have wanted a race clod since the 80s. It bums me out that they aren't popular anymore. I want to build products for the race clod scene but I know they won't sell. I am sure I'll build some stuff anyway just to revisit my youth and if anyone shows interest in the stuff I cut I will just make a limited run. I lurk on clodtalk and rcmt but they are just both so slow. Hopefully the vintage race scene swings back up in popularity.

I think it would be sweet to see it make a come back I was looking through old YouTube vids of them, some people run crazy power that I had no idea a clod could take!, I would love to build me a mod clod twin 10.5t brushless that would haul ass!

You guys need to visit clodtalk.com or RCMT.net. Monster truck racing is still alive in some areas. They are still holding world finals, just like the crawler guys here. The events are a little smaller and a little more spread out. There is still a HUGE following for the clods. I just put together two of them. Here are some specs/pics. Thunder Tech Racing - Ripper chassis, clod axles, Crawford performance engineering 4-link mounts, ESP 14t motors, Holmes Hobbies BRXL speed controller X 2, Castle BEC for future servo duties, all running off my Futaba 4pl. Future mods to include straight rear axle shafts and CVDs up front. Modded some axial shocks to use, we'll have to see how they work out. And since I am a crawler guy, the obligatory flex shot. And the second one. Purchased this from Zyck2k over on RCMT.net, can't say thank you enough. Awesome to deal with and is truly worth the $$.. ZRP Diablo Twin Tekin RS Pro speed controllers. 13.5 Tekin GEN II motors, for now. GMADE shocks. TXT-1 wheels and adapters. Castle BEC and a Futaba S9157 servo (I know HOLEY OVER KILL) |

He is on RCMT.net. In fact he just announced that there is going to be a re-release of the diable chassis kits. Pre-orders are now available. There are a lot of his rigs still around and available. I bet if you get on Michigan Monsters of RC or RCMT.net, you can pick up one for a decent price. |
