| TTR Clod CVD's?
Anyone running Thunder Tech's Clodbuster CVD's? Are they worth the cost? I assume you can pick up some extra steering throw with them. I have my knuckles shaved already, but I have to limit the throw of my servo because I can feel the stock dog bones binding up after a certain point. Thoughts welcomed.

CVD's are a great investment. Any clod I ever run from now on will have them. More steering, more strength, and you can drive with broken axle c's and hardly notice. <---that comes in very handy in comp situations ;) |

waist of money. you can modify the stocks alot more than you have. the stub axles shaved and beveled. the right was is after shortening, and the left is finished after shortening & beveling. http://img76.imageshack.us/img76/257...edstubsnz9.jpg http://img161.imageshack.us/img161/395/knucklett8.jpg the CVDs also makes your track even wider and harder to get threw gates. not something i wanted. plus its free! i nearly tripled my wheel angle doing this. Anyway, the point of CVD are not just steering. They are stronger, they bind less, and the added width is nothing. You can run a 12.5" track width for a 2.2 Clod with CVDs. If a little width makes the difference of fitting through a gate, practice more. | |

they make your rig wider by one half of an inch. that's it. if you use the right wheel/adapter combo, you will not notice a difference. and as far as making it through gates, i finished in 1st place on both courses for the so-cal comp series opener. i had no problem touching gates. i appologize for coming off sounding like an A$$! lol i just re-read my post. let me refraise . i have modified my stock equiptment and it works VERY well for me (won both TXRCRCA super class comps i entered). i have as much or more steering angle as the CVDs, and have never had any binding nor failers/breakage, and i run Moab XLs. however the CVDs are great products and many people have had great success with them. just presenting another option. good luck with your decision and happy crawling! |

I will never build another pair of clod axles without the TTR CVD's Heck it won't be long and I won't build a pair of TLT axles without CVD's Opps... How did that slip out. |
