I'd worry about the collars catching on the rocks.

Where did you find the large hiem joints for the Axle ends to connect to the backbone? Do you have the source information for it?

TJ Shunk;

go to www.mcmasters.com item #1064K551... you will find them there along with anything you can think of for chassis contruction.

Thumbs up

Very nice 1st crawler!!!

Looks much better than what Mrs.Pink passed off on ya.
Have you replaced your axle cases yet?

Dez is right about the collars.
I've got some extra lexan to cover 'em with, on Sunday though...

All that did was send me to a search engine.

Thanks.. That works. Exactly what I was looking for. I have a different idea for a torsion/stick chassis that I need parts for and I need to finish my drawings to ensure it will even work or be worth the new idea.

83 chevy... Your build was my inspiration for the collars but on a stick type chassis with the threaded 7/16" rod and button heads. But, I can adjust my WB and axle angles. Thanks for the idea.

OK. I test run the chassis last night... the shaft collars got to go. The do drag and catch when climbing. Thinking of drilling straight through the backbone for the upper links to mount to.

Any other suggestions?

shorten the links up some to spread out the distance of the collars. try that first before you drill any holes.

i am running the same tires and they didnt last very long. The sharp edges rounded off very quick and now looses some traction in places it never had before. Anybody else experience this?
