| New crawler from DK
Hey, ill just introduce myself, my name is Jeppe im 15 and from DK, and a total newb in the crawling world, but i have read a lot about it and i think it sounds interesting, so why not jump right in to it? I decided to buy a Super Clod Buster when i can afford it, and i just wanted to hear your opinion of what i have so far; Sanwa Airtronic MX-3 3-channel incl 2x servo and reciever. The servos included are only 3,3 kg, i'll buy some 13 kg . Oil shocks whit longer travel, 120 mm long. Diff locked rear and front. 4WS. 550 motor (if it fits??) Some weight inside the rims and over the axles. Maybe some adjustments to the chassis for a lower center of gravity. And for the looks i'm looking at either a Bronco or a Dodge Mega Cab.. I probably forgot something, but i hope you like it so far.. Say it if something is missing.. |

check this out How to build a Clodbuster Rock Crawler You are on the right path. You can crawl with the stock motors for a while, but a 45-65 turn lathe motor would work better. You will need to either make or buy a new chassis. |

Thx ! I talked to a 'hobby-guy' today and he said i just needed a y-connection for my steering, so ill just buy a 2-channel.. Money saved, money spent elsewhere!

You can get TQ3 and TQ2 off E-bay all day long for alot cheaper then $65 bucks. That switch is only 3 bucks at Radio Shack. TQ3 is by far the cheapest and easiest radio to get.

What is better: steering on rear wheels independent from front wheels, or front and rear steering at the same time?

most do both front and rear on different channels or they do front steer only locking the rear a y makes the rear turn the other way then the front which is kinda useless on a rock crawler better to do font only then that

i run a 2 channel with reversing y harness. works great. its a pure comp rig and there are times indepent rear would be a huge help, but i get by. for a basher/weekend crawler, it would be just fine. heres what you need http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...ProdID=EXRA325 . |

Okay, thanks SKSS.. I think i'll just buy a 3-channel.. Its cheaper than first buying a 2-channel and then find out that you need a 3-channel.. And if i get a spare channel i'll use that for a winch or something..
