The width of the Clod axles will help with stability in other situations and the low cg of the clod will help as well. The Clod has to carry two motors so the TLT gets the nod weight wise. Overall I think the Clod axle 2.2 rigs will show their worth. I would love to compare mine to your tuber since weight wise they are pretty close, maybe someday.

Nice looking rig. You guys going to hold a comp. soon? I loved competing with the 2.2's. There a tone of fun! You mentioned in your description that you use a Novak Rooster. Are you using a Rooster or a Super Rooster? The reason I ask is that I need another speedo and was thinking about picking up a Rooster for the 2.2 but was afraid that it may not hold up to the dual motor and such. I know that the forward and reverse amps are significantly lower with the plain Rooster. Just curious. |

I caint say it werks perfect because I have only had it out one time and had a few glitching issues that caused the winch to activate at weird times. So far it seems to be werking fine, especially when the winch is not plugged in; I may add an on off switch for the winch. Remember, I am also running a digital steering servo so I am really pushing the BEC, using an analog 645 may eliminate all the glitches I am seeing. I think a comp may happen fairly soon, you guys will be informed for sure. I really love running the 2.2 Clods too. Last edited by Grizzly4x4; 02-24-2005 at 10:55 AM.

After much waiting I finally got my hands on some Imex 2.2 All-T tires. These things are huge!! The rubber compund feels like it is the same as the JSD's so I think they will hook up well. I mounted them with no foam so the axle clearance is about the same as with the Masher 2000's but the tread flattens out nicely. I will run some kind of foam because the sidwalls are HUGE and may not be very stable without it. I will experiment a little. I threw a stock body on so that the size reference would be easier to see than with my hacked body. Thats a Maxx size wheel under the chassis. Last edited by Grizzly4x4; 02-25-2005 at 12:23 AM. |

I took some width measurements as well. The wheels I use are for a Traxxas Electric Stampede. The Stampede front wheels have less backspacing so they push the tires away from the chassis. I measured from the very outside edge of the lugs. The narrowed wheels have the outer bead lip cut off on the inside and outside of the wheel. Imex All-T Traxxas front: 13.5" RPM Rear: 12.5" RPM rear narrowed: 12.375" Masher 2000 Traxxas rear narowed: 11.5" As soon as I get a chance I will get these out on the rocks. |

Bronco bodies are about 1/8 scale so the All-T is about 44" scale (Masher 2000 is about 40"), if you narrowed them they would look more scale for a 44" tire. Thanks guys

| Hey Griz, I got a question for 'ya... I don't much about clods, and even less about 2.2's and I'm getting ready to build one. Do you need adapters to run the maxx 2.2 wheels? I'm not sure if the hex's are the same on the 2.2's as the regular emaxx sized wheels. By the way, it's gonna be a 2.2......on a stick! |

2.2's generally run a 12mm hex maxx wheels run a 14mm hex ofna and 1/8 buggy wheels run a 17mm hex pull the adapters off the clods and you'll find that they're brass 12mm hexes underneath, and will bolt up to a 2.2 size rim, but won't fit a maxx rim. that and maxx wheels are larger than 2.2 in their rim diameter... |
