Default My CR-01 TLC

Well got my CR-01 yesterday, and have been busy building ever since,I haven't had to follow instruction before, all my builds have been homemade stuff, now I have all the parts in the box, so this shouldn't take long.

step 1&2

step 3&4

step 5&6

step 7

step 8&9

step 10&11

the chassis is set and axles done.Heres a comparison between the CR-01 and TLT,in total the CR-01 is one inch wider.

I couldn't wait to get the wheels done so I skipped a few steps. These things are soft and sticky.Talk about alot of screws,80 tiny screws and some sore fingers.I added some weight,5 1/4 oz in the front,3 1/4 oz in the rear, thats all I had so it will have to do,I also starred the foams

step 30

The fit and finish is perfect, thats Tamiya quality, the beads fit like a glove.

Heres a comparison to the rock claws.

Heres my choice of electronics.

step 12-14

step 15

step 16

step 17-18

step 19-20

step 21-22

step 23-25

Thats a 55 turn motor,with a 16t pinion,the motor looks better without the sticker.

Its running and I'm very impressed with this thing.I haven't got the body painted yet,i hate masking, painting and can never make up my mind on a color,I have orange, white, black and silver.I plan on orange with a white roof,or orange with a black hardtop(like a jeep),or full silver.I'm losing the battle with the masking tape,so it might end up one solid color.

I will get some video tomorrow, with or without the body.

Just use all those colors and make a psychodelic camouflage...
Looking forward to the video...
