lil burb

i since have really gone back and shaved all the useless perches and such off now. i like how it handles now, i dont drive it much cause i love my bronco.
How does your CR01 perform over the rocks since now it has a lower GOG? Does it get hung up a lot since your ground clearance is reduced because I was thinking of doing this with my CR01.

Seems I'm a little late to this discussion, but I've noticed only Eeepee said not to ditch the canti set up. I agree with him that the canti system has its own benefits and its a sound set up. Just needs some minor tweaking from the stock set up...

Here are some picks of my set up...

All tires touching....

Here u can see shocks and mounting locations....

Notice the zip tie fix for canti slop...

So i would say if anyone is building a CR-01 or doesnt know to keep or remove canti try some different things..... I think it still works well.

thats reassuring for a crawler noob like me who is just building his first CR01. Sometimes reading expert forums, you get the feeling the entire box of bits is just junk and needs replacing, when the reality is more like some people tuning the setup, and the original is probably fine for most people.

Will look into the zip tie mod but keep the cantilevers for a while.

BTW, I bought the losi 4" shocks after reading how terrible the cantilevers were. Is there any option to use those in place of the standard Tamiya ones in a canti setup, or should I just keep hold of them/sell them on?

Thanks for noticing. I have two rooms full of trucks, I think last count was 12. I've got it all, including trucks with no shocks or springs at all. When you spend a little time tuning and tweaking the cantilevers they work very well! Many forms of race cars use cantilever set ups not only for packaging reasons, but because the rate can be tuned, just like on the CR-01.

Oh I'm sure you can get those to work in place of the standard Tamiya shock. If not, I'm sure you can sell those quickly, they're popular. Or just hold on to them cause it won't be long you're addicted and buying more trucks.

It's true.

If you're talking about the pics above, those are Tamiya High Clearance links.
