You bet! Working out some new front bumper designs. I bought a winch for it but now I kinda wish I'd just gone for a fake unit. Not sure the useable winch will come in handy unless I buy a 3ch radio....and 3ch receiver too.

yea, you'll need a 3rd ch for sure, but it looks pretty legit, cable and all. i was considering buying that 3racing winch but with out the controller, i have seen it for around $15 shipped. hey rabfan, i was wondering if you would humor me and place the hilux shell on the cr-01 for a pic, wondering how it will line-up and sit. i am hoping it doesn't just look like a monster truck.....
thanks!

Komodo is kinda mid build. I'm making ubolts for the axles. Trying to sell a few cars has taken up most of my time.

Ad from Vortex;
SOLD! $3000 OBO 1982 Rabbit 2 door. Has a built 1.9L engine running stock CIS with TCIH Knock control, forged 83mm Wiseco pistons and a worked head 11:1 compression ratio. Mk2 intake manifold and large throttle body. ARP rod studs and a balanced bottom end including clutch. Solid lifter head, heavy duty valve springs, new valves/guides windage tray, 1.7l cam shaft(euro cam), adjustable cam sproket, bullet nose and knife edge crank 15,000km since total rebuild. Requires Premium fuel. Also has Passat front and rear disks with proportioning valve and 22mm master cylinder. This car stops! Running MK2 front knuckles whith big wheel bearings and larger balljoints. Also has balljoint spacers to retain suspension geometry. Running H&R sport springs and new front shocks. Everything replaced 15,000km when engine was done.
Early Scirocco grill and dual rounds with small tails and rare 78 only tail panel. Clear front corner lenses.
Also has lower cross brace. Would make an awesome autocross car. Currently has a long throw ACN gearbox but I can replace it with an ultra close ratio 4K GTI gearbox if you prefer. Car cruises at 124Km/h turning 2700rpm.
I have owned this car for 10 years reliable and fast car get in and drive anywhere.

Got the front axle assembled on the Komodo and took it for a spin. Not much steering and wayyy too fast. anyone know where to get a smaller pinion for this unit?

If its a standard pinion you can get them at Robinson Racing. They make all types, that where I get the funky Tamiya metric pinions

Yeah I know... I was looking up Tamiya cr-01 on Google and came across your Vortex thread. I forgive you for liking MK3's or whatever it is you have

Not sure yet. The truck is too fast for anything useful and the electronics are garbage. Seriously just garbage. Twitchy and double input for reverse.
They don't turn enough either but I need to adjust my alignment so that might help.
THey sure look nice though. That chassis is all show and no go. The CR-01 has a little show but mostly go which is what I like. I don't give a damn what it looks like if it's reliable and goes like it's being chased by a bunch of rabid monkeys. The CR-01 isn't fast but it sure is good at climbing....outclimbing rabid monkeys that is.
