|  Pinion problems?
I know on some Tamiya models they recommend replacing the kit pinion with a steel one as the stock aluminium item is soft and wears quickly. Is this the case with the CR-01 kit pinion or is it harder wearing? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

I've got all my pinions since I bought mine new (have 3) Same metal stock as all the others. It is interacting with a nylon gear and it's pretty durable in that scenario. Keep it greased up and check it every few months. Tamiya gearboxes are generally very tough. I'm had some wear out after a while, but it takes a good long while to do so. I've worn out the rear ring and pinion one one of my CR01's well before the pinion. |

i agree, there are many different "weak links" within the drive train that will fail before the pinion/spur connection.

X2. I've been running mine on 3S with no issues other than one rear ring/pinion.

Pretty much the only Tamiya pinions I had wear issues with were the ones on dual motor setups, (TLT, Juggernaut).
