The trinity wheels are just a tad larger in diameter than the OE venom wheels. The MG chevrons are a stretch to the trinity wheels but they will fit... I would measure them but I just glued the trinity tires back on to kinda make a scale crawler. Let me see how easy they come back off and I'll measure them for ya. Adam |

All I need is outside diameter. I found some crazy tires that are short like buggy tires but with big sidewall. Inner diameter is slightly larger than VMG tires. Its inner diameter is 40 mm, and the bead is 35mm or so.

1 5/8 is a perfect fit!! NICE! The tires are for the traxxas cat. Its traxxas cat rear, part number 1218, but tower doesn't even carry them. I think they are a long discontinued tire (which sucks for me because I only have one pair)... :( I'll get pics in 5 min. EDIT: pic, sorry for the blurriness, hard to get enough light indoors: Not exactly scale, but the knobs like to grab. I think with a 12hour WD-40 bath, they'd soften up very nicely. |

One more question, what did you do to make them fit?

Glad to hear the tires would work sucks that they are out of production. To make the Trinity wheels work on the MG I just picked up 2 pair of the trinity wheels & tires. Take your Wheel hexes and file them down till they just snugly fit into the hole for the bearing in back of the wheel. I just CA'd the newly shaped Hex into the wheel. Hope this helps and keep me posted on the progress... Adam |

I don't know for sure if the tires are out of production, but I think the buggy was a early 90's car, so I would imagine its done for. You might want to use JB weld if the CA doesn't work. |

ultralord, glad to hear about another custom MG, good luck on the stretching. Not all that hard if you take your time, Good Luck... PWT, I've put quite the bash on the CA held hexes and no breakage. Did break my HPI servo saver though but no the wheels. I'll be looking for the tires and I'll let you know if I find any and hope you do the same... Adam |
