I owe Del Monte for getting the idea in my head after seeing the video of his.
I fixed the articulation problem. Had to move a whole bunch of things aroun to get it but it came at very unique.

holy crap i love it.

maybe i should start building comp chassis

Del Monte 07-09-2006 06:20 PM

looks great!

I like the idea of the slanted backbone, it'll be interesting to see how it works.

Crawlsalot 07-09-2006 06:29 PM

it just looks so wrong, what were you drinking to come up with that?

Hell ya bitch.
This thing CRAWLS. I'm excited it's debute on real rocks will be this weekend. I'm going to the LHS tomorrow to pick up some small batteries. Then I can put them where I need to. Even with the battery up high it's still a low cg.
Here are pics from my yard.

I just went and weighed it 4.7# with 3300 and a lathe. Allso water filled tires. I used them to play in the mud earlier.
So when the brushless gets back in this truck that's good for about 4.oz. The small battery is good for about 8+oz I should break the 4# mark easy.

So stupid simple I don't see how it's attached or how it works.

Thanks for the sapport guys.
Pics of the mounting to the axles. IT's mounted to the stock tlt double shock link mount thing.

Del Monte 07-09-2006 08:00 PM

the torsion stick crawls nice doesn't it? 8)

I'm liking the use of stock mounts too, I might have to try that instead.

Cole82 07-09-2006 08:02 PM

My shaft rust from lack of use.

Yes it does.
When it's off set like that it has more leverage to twist the c channel.=more articulation

Brainstain 07-09-2006 08:09 PM

Now I get it. So, if you loosen the bolts up, will it flex more?

Cole82 07-09-2006 08:11 PM

NO it will axle wrap. That holds it rigid. The channel deflects and twists.

microgoat 07-09-2006 09:05 PM

First the side plates went away, then the shocks & springs went away, pretty soon we'll be crawling with no axles!

All of a sudden the Nanotube is old-school! I can't keep up with you guys.

JohnRobHolmes 07-09-2006 09:45 PM

Thats pretty slick! Does it articulate evenly to both directions and without a C shaped sway?

run2jeepn 07-09-2006 10:14 PM

Looks good.

Cole82 07-10-2006 03:14 PM
