Am I the only one thats confused:-( ??? Is is possible to get some photos of this? I have been wanting to do some sort of dig on my one truck for some time but I am still having a hard time figuring them out even with all the info on them on here. One of the SVSC guys is working on one and I am hoping to see it in person at the Comp on Jan. -Mike |

I think the picture Ranger posted makes it pretty clear... But let me see if I understand. Basically, you are removing the spider gears from the inside of the diff. The sidegears lock directly to the outside of the differential via pins or screws. You need to drill into both the side gears and the differential case for the pins. The spring keeps the side gears and their pins pushed out and locked into the diff until they are pushed inwards against the spring by some sort of a slider. For this set up I am thinking you would have large holes in your axle cases for the servo to be able to actuate the little slider. The only weak link I see with this is the possibilty of the pins breaking that bind the side gears to the diff case. |

If im understanding this correctly when the spring is compressed that causes the one tire to no longer be locked correct? But how is it "braking" then?

Very different.. Nice thinking... So with the force of teh servo pushing it in and the spring wanting to push it back out, that is where your getting the braking then?? To run both sides, you would need 2 servos right? |
