I will figure out the tranny mounting issues, but i might mess around with stock tranny until i get pissed off with the slipping.

I just ordered those rings from Unimoger, good link Dittohead! Kudos.
Ok, excuse my extreme noobery, but I have to drill out my wheels right?
Also the rings are made by Hand Bros? do they have a site or any other sweet *** Crawler parts? (other than on the Montana Scale Designs Site)
Any Help appreciated.

Ok, I've got some Questions on what type of battery to use for this truck.
I was thinking about a maxamps.com 6000 or 8000 li-poly 7.4v
Are these just overkill? or is it worth the $80-100?
Also I've heard that people run 8 or 9 cells. Any info is appreciated.

I'm working on a Tracer now and plan to use a 6 cell sub-C pack...it'll need the weight.

thorsteenster, did you buy the entire tracer kit? or just the chassis, links and axle braces? If you bought the entire kit did it come with the heavy duty steering links or are those a separate deal...also I'm sorry for the delay on pics...but i have no truck to build! im waiting on the TLT! (No offense but stuff takes forever from The United States, damn customs!)
I have almost everything else. Will post ASAP.
also excuse my noobery but WTF is a tang? (check above post)

lol...i couldnt think of anything better to call it than a "tang" so thats why i put the pic up also. just the front part where the shucks mount that come off the main/mid section.

Thanks for the info, dude.
I think im just gonna fab some links for the steering cause the stock ones are so lame...but i dont wanna pay $17 + shipping for 2 small links and ends.

Anyhoo... im interested in these spools : http://rc4wd.com/shop/product_info.p...oducts_id=1320
I dont wanna JB-weld or anything else lame..I know noone will see, but I just dont want to compromise on this truck.
The site claims that the spools make a lot of noise at first, which lessens later. Anyone used these? Any thoughts?

i was thinking of getting the txt version for my txt axles, but why bother with the extra expense? i just locked my diffs, but if one of those break, then maybe i'd look into getting the spools. i dont think of it as compromise, more spending money that dosnt really need to be spent, yet anyway

You do know there's a free way to lock the diff, right?

Yeah, I know about that method, but it looks like it would be difficult to get the gears to mesh well, but I guess ill try it before i bash it.
Also are bearings a big deal for a crawler? I have found complete bearing kits for up to $140. (for a TLT!?!?)
Isn't that more of a racing thing?

I've been using the hot glue method.

It pops off of the metal gears real easily, no residue....

I've always been a little concerned about the noise those gears make... is it that the machine tolerances arent' the same as on the tamiya gears? :-?

i've been to that ebay site before, he has like 200 sets of bearings listed under TLT,
still waiting on the TLT i ordered literally 1 month ago.
It would be nice to have a decent local hobby store to deal with.

Argh sorry guys no TLT yet
Do have a question tho
Would this lousy Futaba MC230R work for this integy 75t?
Stock # Model Dimensions (in.) Weight (oz.) Capacity Motor Limit Current (fwd/rev) Wire
FUTM0922 MC230CR 1.07 x 1.31 x 0.50 1.55 6-7 Cells 20+ turns 90A/45A 16 ga.
Also these are the tires and wheels.
Moab/RPM clawz....Bet you've never seen that combo!
