| The Spider Build
Well, I finally got a rig, and will be tearing it all apart, and will be building a tube chasssis for it. If I remember correctly, it has the traxxas tranny, and some other things. It will be setup for full droop, and the chassis I want to look very similar to Naz t, and the gimbals. (I am still trying to decide on a design) It will be built with 3/16 solid rod. It will have front dig, and some other cool things. I am looking for a set of moabs, and I could trade my set of mashers. Not sure how this build will go, especially with my first tuber! Here are some current pics: and the rod Tell me what you think! |

You'll be able to make some crazy tight bends with that rod but it will be on the heavy side. Good luck. |

ok, so stripped it. I think the tranny is a pede? Can you guys tell? The guy said it was a traxxas, but didn't say what model. So, I need to lock out the rear axle. It was 4ws, now I got that all off, just trying to figure out where to mount it from. Anyway onto pics! |

Yep, that looks like a cut up stampede tranny.

Yes, I have been told it is a Pede. Thanx! Will probably start bending up rod shortly. Hope to have it built in 1-2 days. I would really like to try and get this built in 1-2 weeks. What do you guys build your panels out of? I am also wondering what battery is small? Other than the stick packs? This chassis I am going to build small, and am trying to see what my battery options are. Thanx!

panels are generally made out of either lexan or thin aluminum sheet but i've also seen flexible cutting board and steel sheet. for a battery pack the smallest, most practical packs for crawling are either the 2/3a sized packs (generally 6 to 8 cells sometimes 9) or a lipo pack (2 or 3 cells, size changes greatly with changes in mah so keep that in mind for size). p.s. nice jammies |

Alright, I FINALLY got some chassis work done on the spider. After coming back from hobby habit thursday, (thanx again bob! Recommend him for ANYTHING!!!) I put my tires and wheels together, and just tinkered with my lockouts for the rear. Well, today since I wasn't able to go to the TT, after work, I started to bend up my rod. It is looking pretty sick so far, I know it will be heavier, than most tubers, but it may also preform better too, with the extra weight. This is my first tube chassis, and I think it is coming along well so far, LMK, what you guys think!! |

I sadly wasn't able to use the welder today, so no more work was done on it today. BUT I will continue work tomorrow night. Here are a pic or two, of mock up, sitting at exactly 12.5" WB. |

Looks good man, does your rear shaft hit the chassis at full droop?

| Not sure at this point. I haven't got everything bolted to anything, just a mock up pic. I will more than likely be switching shafts anyway. (these shafts are cut, glued, screwed together, etc. so, new ones would be good! |
