Default spur/pinoin ratio on pede trannys with TLT axles?

What gearing are most you guys using on the Stampede Trannys with the TLT axles. Can you guys post up your ratio and if you like it or not.....

I'm thinking about running a 90 spur with a 15 pinion for a 6:1 ratio with a lathe motor at 7.2 Volts with TLT axles and Mashers......

I am using a 84t spur with a 15t pinion w/ integy lathe motor and masher 2ks. i love it. top speed is around 5-7mph. has enough torque to rip the glued tires off the wheels. very controllable low end with my super rooster. best part is I can still get wheel speed if I need it. on 2000mah NiCads I get anywhere from 45-60 minutes depending on how much I use the steering. If I speed a lot of time in very technical parts of the area where I have to do a crapload of manuvering, my run times drop even though I dont move much.

want to try my 13 tooth pinion next time out though. Only reason I havent done it yet is that my yokes keep popping off the trans (steel yoke even) from driveline stress. I dont think I need anymore stress on my driveline, but I want to give it a try.

Also, I am crawling in a concrete/rock pile with concrete steps and some logs as other obsticles. more of an obsticle/trail environment here. Michigan is a little lacking on mountain rock formations to climb.

I did 96-12, on a 55turn motor, and its WAY TOO low. My top speed is around 3 or 4 mph. I need to change my gearing. I would go with around 90-15, thats what im going to try next.

I tried the 96 12 gearing and also fould it too low. Using 87 14 now with a nitro pede tranny (3.72:1 I think). Seems to work great.

I run 64 pitch, 100T spur and 16T pinion, works great with 2.2 wheels and tires also have it on my txt 14" wb truck with a pede trans and emaxx driveshafts, works great there too, but I run a 45T lathe on my 2.2 and a 65T on my 14'er.

12/84 with a 55t lathe. I like it, lots of torque and decent wheelspeed.

I switch between 12/90 and 12/87. I really like the 12/90 its got plenty of bump power and lots of low end. If there is snow on the ground though I go to the 12/87. I am gonna mess around with it a bit more though. This is with a 45t lathe

edit...I've been switchin around. I think there is a better set up to be had, I am at 12/84 now

im using 16/84 a little high but im using a 65 turn lathe. it runs about the same as my multiplex 600 with 12/87 did, except i have more torque and better low speed control. i like it though i was thinking of going a little lower, but i am scared of blowing up axle parts cause i changed over to maxx drive lines.

How do you manage to use such small pinions and spurs? The smallest pinion I can use with a 93T Spur is a 22T, before the mounting screws bottom out on the mounting plate? Elongate the slots with a Dremel?

X2; but I am curious to see what say a 87/15 might be like or a 45T Lathe. Just for comparison. I just got the 55T last night and I'm a newb so...

I use 84/16 with a 55t lathe on my comp rig. My truggy is still searching for the right gearing. Currently I'm running 87/16 in it.

How well does a 93t clear the driveshaft yokes?

Running a 12/87 with a 55T lathe. Works great with either Mashers or Moabs. Good torque and wheel speed when needed.

i have an 18 pinion and 87 spur, and a 35t integy lather and havent had any power problems yet, but im also using 6 cell matched cell nimh packs...3300, and 3000 mah, so havent had any power or runtime problems on that and a novak xrs controller...may be on the high side when the moabs go on it...

I'm running 93/16 with a 55T lathe. Super low gearing and speed. Thinking of bumping the pinion up to 17 or 18 just to see what difference it makes. Also waiting on my 55T Integy to arrive from Tower. It shipped on the 2nd and still no sign of it.

RCKJeep: I had to file down the U-Joint pins to keep it from rubbing the spur gear.

The pede tranny has two fixed upper mounting holes, if you use the inner one (closest to the spur gear) you'll be able to run smaller pinions. I'm running a 93/11 this way.
