Default "rydefab" comp 2.2............finally 1 for myself!

no pics yet, but i am finally going to make one for myself. still going to run the pimp slap this season, it did me pretty good in the last one. this one is going to be alittle different . started on a major component tonite and it's going pretty well so far. i don't mean to be a post "whore" but i am pretty excited about this one . so i won't keep it a secret from anyone but i won't just come out and tell. i'll post a couple of pics tomorrow after i do alittle fabbing. shoots, stay tuned to this station !

here's a sneak peek at some of the details............................

"rydefab" tuber chassis
droop suspension
r2 tranny with alittle "rydefab" touch
majorly modded and cut tlt axles
og revolver with mamba 25 (as soon as i pay DTP for them , thanks)
2s lipo
hopefully to find some aluminum 2.2 beadlocks
tlt cvd's
losi claws

thanks alot!!

Damn it. I was just about to ask you for help with something. I've yet to visit the rydefab workshop. Just kidding . About time you did something for yourself. In respect to DTP's electronics, I'm sure your agent fat cat labor costs will cover it.

Let's see some pics!

Hey Ryde, does this mean you stopped working on the 1.9? That thing had a killer frame. I was hoping to see that built.

ok, got some work done before i gotta make mochi (rice balls) for the new year. got the major component sorta done. i got a hold of SlinkySam about his axles and asked him if i could make a set like his. he told me go for it so i did. it was alittle scary about cutting up a brand new set of tlt axle cases but it will be worth it if it does good. it's all steel and i don't have access to a mill so the welder had to come out again for this. 1/2" x 1/2" solid steel square, solid 3/16" steel rod for the axle shaft, 1/4" and 5/16" steel brakeline tubing for the axle tube. it was fairly easy to make, thank god i got a not bad drill press to make the holes. still have to tap the axle shaft to 5mm but the associated aluminum hexs fit perfect . gotta drill for the axle pins and lock the shaft to the diff. i like the way it has come out so far and the clearance is pretty good. i'm trying to figure out how to do the fronts but that is another adventure for another day . hope you guys like it so far, thanks. here's some pics.................

here's a shot of the stock axle and the SlinkySam special ............

here's with some wheels (and i'm not going to run those.........i hate both of them )

again, thanks to SlinkySam for letting me copy his axles...........thanks Sam!!

Daaaaaaaaaaaaaamn. You are the the man. That looks great. It took you all of 1 day to make these so it seems. Mine too much longer (because I am a lazy slug and take forever to get things out of my head).

Great job. Make sure to run lube down the shaft to keep things from scraping. Mine has been trouble free so far, so hopefully you will love yours. I know when I cut my housing up, it was tough to do. I cringed. But mine was an old housing. You have balls my Hawaiian Vato.

We can chat some more and I can show you how I was going to do my front end. Not too hard, just a bit more creativiting when it comes to the knuckles.

Once again, GREAT JOB!!

-Sam

P.S. I just took second place with TINY at the Nor-Cal event which is a huge deal when there are nearly 40 runners and some of the most hard core drivers around. I'd say it was the axle , so you need to dominate the comps over there especially that DTP .

thanks alot sam, and congrats on 2nd place at nor-cal. like i had said earlier, when i first saw your rig with this axle........i just had to try . needless to say that it came out pretty good. now the front is a different question. i will definately be chatting with you on your ideas on the front end and i will give you mine. wouldn't it be funny if we both came up with the same thing !! i'll give you a "pm" later on. shoots, take care.
