Default Zach's new super for '08

I picked this up from Rcrawler, it was is '06 Nats Super ring. He did really well with so it might go pretty much unchanged. Then again, I can't leave good enough alone.

Specs
TXT axles
Old Kaetwo Jugg chassis
Clocked TXT tranny
Moab XL's on Proline wheels
Super Rooster
Cobalt 10t motor, 8t pinion.
2 Hitec 5955tg's
DX3R

Before (Rxcrawler kept the body for sentimental reasons)

After some adjustments.
Changed up the mag mayhem with gear reduction to the Cobalt 10t.
Switched the shocks upside-down. Lowered COG but more importantly added some stiffness to the chassis because of mounting style.

Looking good Zach.
I liked the Titan body more though.

Thanks, the body is just one I had laying around. I've got to make it to the hoby shop to decide what I want to do.

I forgot to say WB is 16"
Dig is coming for sure
I might replace the chassis, then again, I might not.

Sniff sniff.....weird seeing it not at my house. Atlease it went back to it's home state of Utah. That was my first real crawler...

If you stiffened the chassis you lost some flex I assume. It was kinda of a sprung torsion LOL

That truck has been through many changes started out with cantilevers. Here are some of the baby pics.

Oh you can't forget the original crawler configuration, The first Furless Yeti... Falls in right after the canti pic. This is a pic from the first time it hit rocks as a crawler... March '04? '03? I can't remember the year.

Memories... Oh wait, I've only been doing this since '06

I got batteries wired up tonight, I'll take pics tomorrow, they are charging right now. I'm going to have to get a servo regulator. Every time I get into a little of a bind the esc stalls.

Does this make any sense?

I know my 2.2 works great at 12.5" with a 5" tire, 10.125" width, and 2.5" of belly clearance (half droop, half sprung). This set up fits my driving style and the courses around here.

Going off of that, say I take the tire size of 7".

7/5=1.4 so
Multiply measurements by 1.4
WB should be 17.5"
Width should be 14.175"
Belly clearance should be 3.5"

6" tire

6/5=1.2
WB should be 15"
Width should be 12.15"
Belly clearance should be 3"

My thought with a TXT is that it's just a big 2.2. So I'm thinking of just going off of these measurements to help me set up my TXT.

Does that make sense?

A Tundra body would probably be pretty cool.

I think the 7" tire specs look about right. The belly clearance seems a bit low, but I'm a clod guy.

Belly clearance is definitely subjective but that is where I like it.

I think 16" is too short I was going to lenghten it but then I moved over to the darkside. My Area 51 was around 17.5" my new copperhead is 18.5"

I might still lengthen it but this is where I am now. The links not being parallel was just driving me insane. It was creating quite a bit of torque twist and I knew I could live without some of the center clearance. I built a new lowered skid plate that allowed me to lower the links and run them nearly parallel and I was able to lower the tranny over 1/2".

I got the batteries mounted too

Yeah, I run my 2.2 at just over 2" of gc and I like it, but on the super I run it at 4.5" of GC and it's still a little low. I get hung up a little too much sometimes.

Looking good

I had to run alot of belly clearence down here in the south. You can tell from the old skid that it still hit alot. You might be able to get away with less clearence where you run.

I'm sitting at about 4 3/8" right now which is generally plenty around here. 90% of what we run is slick rock and huge amounts of clearance isn't neccessary. You do have to have something that will sidehill and go up incredibly steep stuff so lower COG is crucial.
