Yes the Novak super duty is one of the best esc on the market. especially for rock crawling. but you can find a good used novak super rooster alot less or even a EVX ESC. You don't really need a Novak super duty to run only one motor. If you were running dual motors it would be nice. but just run 1 gd600 with 1 motor and you can get by with a less expensive ESC. even a novak rooster would work then.

Ok i think im just going to buy the super duty and ditch the gd 600 idea i think i might just change the gearing but what gearing should i use? (bit of a newbie to electrics and gearing) thanks

im not trying to be asmart *** and i havent gotten mine int eh mail but has any one tried drilling out the pinion to fit the shaft??? seems to me a little easier.. lol or i could be talking out of my *** as my name portrays "newb" so i could very easily be wrong but just a thought

I bored the stock aluminum TXT pinions out to fit the GD, it works great. But, an aftermarket steel pinion, that's been relieved in the back, may not work so good. The pinion has to be big enough in diameter too, or there won't be enough thread for the pinion's set screw.

I drilled out the stock 15 tooth pinion to fit my GD600 shaft.

Chucked my shaft in a Makita hand drill and filed it with a leatherman pocket tool file. Now I can fit any pinion I want on it.
