The GD comes with an 18t pinion, which gives it a 2:5.1 out of the box. I bought a 13t to go along with it, but after running the stock pinion (with a 9t on the other end), I think that'd be to slow. R/C Unlimited on Union and Camden has (had) them for $13 (same as Tower). It was listed under the wrong part number though. Ask for a GS-600. Or, give them the Tower part number, LXSL79. |

The slower the better... i found that the GD600 was very easy to mount and centered the motor almost perfectly. i have found out that with the 3:1, my rig will almost not free roll downhill once you stop... its kinda nice. there are a bunch out there but this one seems to be the most popular... with the most info on line too,....

how owuld the motor mount work?? from a double to single motor mount?? do I have to make one?? if, so what did u guys do or use to make one??? so best thing to do is to leave the the reduction alone and play with different pinions on the motor?? what combo would I have to run to get a 3:1 ratio?? thanks again guys... |

Your can go the mammoth route as well. But all the answer are you just search around and you'll find them. I'm running a GD600 @ 2.5 with a 9t on the motor. I've run it with a lathe motor and it was pretty slow I changed to a 27t and I now have wheel speed but it doesn't crawl as well. I might go to 3.0:1 with the 27t. But my motor is making funny noises all of a sudden. So we'll see

I posted a chart >>in this thread<< that has a gearing chart. Here it is as well... I went with the 129.2:1 ratio. Works quite nicely, slow, torquey, and just enough wheel speed left over. It's my 3rd, and final gear ratio change. |

The spur on the GD is 46t, so 46/20=2.3:1 We know a 9t pinion on the the tranny gives us 56.6:1, so 56.6x2.3=130.18. |

I tired searching aroung but couldn't really find anything productive about the inline reduction. I kept running into people who would say it but then go on to talking about a 600 or mamoth. Anyone use these around here, if so why or why not?

You mean the MP-Jet worm reduction? Looks cool, but needs more mods to make it work. Something about an adapter plate. Plus, I think's it harder to find than the GD, even the Mammoth box. I don't know to much about it, but I don't think you can adjust internal ratios with it. It's set at 3.8:1, IIRC.

With a GD 600 and the motor in the back, it's normal rotation.

So if I were to just replace both stock motors , I would have to replace them with reversed motors?
