That's a sweet rig, but I would invest in some better tires than the Krap-roks

Thumbs up

What really impressed me was the hood. At first I thought it was lexan. Then saw it was fabbed from metal. WOW, just WOW. Awesome metal skills.

Wow. I like the attention to detail. That's an awesome tuber for your first attempt. Clean welds and the metal hood is awesome.

If you feel bored, you can build me a tube chassis...:-P

WOW!
You guys are too kind. I never expected to hear so many nice things about this truck. It really makes me feel like all the work was worthwhile.

The hood was alot of work, and is kinda heavy. But it does have that nice metal thud sound when you flip over onto a rock

I did get a little crawlin in this evening, and I sorta have to agree about the tires. On wet East Tn rocks they sure spin alot!
Any ideas on what to get to replace them? Im thinkin Max Swamp Dawgs, but I would like to hear some different opinions. I do need something that will fit on the Maxximizers though.

Also I will try to get some more pics of the servo mounts, etc. up - but it may take a day or two.

Anyways thanks again for all the positive comments

Thanks for all the positive feedback!
Ive got a few more pics of the hood as I was building it - Ill try to get them up tommorow.

I also got a few short videos yesterday, but then one of the screws holding one of the upper links came out, and I didnt bring any extra anything - so that cut my wheelin short:-(

I fixed it this evening, and flipped the shocks over, and changed oil weight to try and battle the twist, but I think it made the body roll worse

Oh well - Ill get it figured out one day

Damn! I thought the hood was 'glass in the first few pics because of the texture of the paint. Now I'm also guessing that the inside of your body tub is metal as well?

Yeah
everything I made for this thing is sheet metal.
Its a little heavy, but its easier for me to work with than trying to make stuff out of plastic, etc.
plus I like the fact that when I screw something up I can weld, grind, bend, or whatever to get it the way I want it.

I also like the look and feel of metal - I guess it makes it a little more realistic to me.
Although some people have questioned my version of reality sometimes :-P

Looks great I too love the placment of the on/off switch. And the manual stick and 4wd stick really wrap it up inside. Congrats on a superb first build.

Thanks guys
I just got some Jumbo Swamp Dawgs mounted on some offset Maximizers - got em off flee-bay
I wanted to try them out today - but it was raining hard all afternoon
It broke for a short while and I messed around a bit, but not as much as I wanted to - only about 10min.
They seemed to do quite a bit better than the KRocks - it didnt spin nearly as much
I also like the offset better - they seem much wider, and more stable - with no more rubbing
