dude, are you blind? look just above at the micrometer, its 12mm!

watch out, your id is a trademark infringement.

Goofball!

I was not replying to the reply with the micrometer pic, but the original question about the hexes being 12mm - simply stating that "I" never measured them.

And trademark this...

but really though, the new wild willy has horizontal grill slats because chrysler trademarked the the 7 vertical slats and headlights. thats what tamiya said anyway.

My Id only has 5 verticals, so I suspect I'm safe from Chrysler's evil team of lawyers prowling Internet forums for trademark violations.

I received my jugg axle upgrade package from Tamiya a few weeks back, just forgot about this thread ;D

Everything is good, other than the tops of the axles will require either the aluminum txt tops or just making a plate to cover the top of the axle liek .... did.

The additional parts that are required are two sets of axle shafts, 2x sets of knuckles and kingpins, and bearings. Everything else is in the 19 dollar bag.

I'm just curious if the clod cvd's will work with these axles since the clod axle shafts work in them and so do the knuckles. I'd like to get the straight rear shafts to get rid of the need for a rear servo or links to bind up on.

Yes the cvds are interchangeable. I have them in my txt axles.
Is the link on the first page where you ordered them from? I just clicked on it and it shows that kit being discontinued.

I see that they are now discontinnued, I bought mine for 25bucks shipped. I'm glad I hopped on it when I did.

Thanks for the info!

Thanks for the info, I should have jumped when they still had some. Oh well, just have to keep my eyes open for some.

Jackyl, I am running the straights in the rear as well, love them.

I kinda thought that they would work, thanks for confirming that for me.

Every once in awhile you see a set of TXT axles on ebay. usually in the 120 range. But worth it ;)

Yeah, I check every now and then, $120 is a lot cheaper than $360 for the whole kit, when all I want are the axles.

That is awesome that Tamiya is offering these again. All the parts to build them using stock Tamiya parts are still available through tower, EXCEPT the diff parts, specifically the to diff sides that house the spiders. Tower has the spiders, but I Have yet to find a place to get the diff housing parts. I would much rather build a set of diffs with spiders and JB them together than buy the rc4wd spools. But the spools are all that I have found so far.

Well I found the link

RC Upgraded Diff Parts - Juggernaut
$19.25 for 1x package containing both axle housings and upper gear parts

TXT/Jugg diff housing pieces
$12.50 for 1x MR19 & 1x MR20 x 1 = $12.50

Tamiya Bevel Gear Bag 58232
$8.99 "One bag does both diffs" = $8.99

Tamiya Drive Shaft Large Shaft 6589
$10.19 for 1x left & 1x right axle shaft x 2 = $20.38

Tamiya Wheel Axle 2-Piece 65
$7.99 for 2x pieces x 2 = $15.98

Tamiya Clod Buster D parts
I pair stock clod knuckles

$8.00 for 1 pair = $16.00

Tamiya E-Ring 5mm 44002
$1.70 5x per bag x 3 bags = $5.10

Integy Silver Steering Block Super Clod Buster (2)
$26.29 for 2x knuckles 2x = $52.58

Total when all said and done and ready to mount up:
$134.78 + S/H W/ Integy Knuckles
$98.20 + S/H W/Stock Clod knuckles

FYI: There are also the call for 6mm washers on the axles shafts in the TXT Manual for the TXT. Part # 9805693 If you know of washers that will work post a link.

This should be complete cost now.

But that should be the last set of shafty axles you will ever need running 2.2 tires on them. You'll never break em' ! "Well I know that I won't break em' "

So, what is missing from this kit to make complete axles? I realize no axleshafts or knuckles, but are all the internals there, except for the diff?
I don't see the pinion on tower.

You can get the 6mm washers from RCP crawlers.

Thanks Jackyl for posting the links to the other parts.

Thanks Tannis,

I'd add them to the list but I'm not sure if everyone uses them in their builds.

I went with the Integy knuckles

What I noticed is, they hold the stub axle out, so you get a little more steering, not much, but every bit is needed with stock axleshafts. Personally, I only run CVD's.

Thanks,

I saw that I forgot the king pins, but if you go with the RC4wd knuckles they come with them and so do the Integy knuckles. I have yet to find a place to just buy the king pins let me know.

I hope that this list has helped some people so far.
