Its discontinued. Dont trust anything Tower says. I ordered something they said was on order due by such and such and finally found out it was deleted and never updated on the site. Thier tech dept sucks.

Yes but they are re-releasing it as the XB series if I remember right. Rather than kit form with a Tamiya ESC, it'll be a RTR.

don't worry... it will always be around in some form or another... heck the jeep version has just been re-released... and there's still a lot of taouregs and pajeros still kickin around as well. it's too good of a seller for tamiya to kill off completely.

pretty nice color scheme. not a very nice price. i've wanted a MTW ever since seeing mr. pushrod's "crawling at shotton steelworks" on youtube and am glad i've got a couple of kits squirelled away. now if only someone with fabrication skills fixes the steering for the rest of us...

i am definitely going to do that, but i need to get a proper drill and sawzall before i'm even capable (tool-wise). i was actually thinking of trying the mod of drilling out the chassis and putting in bearings that has been around for a while on scale4x4 and then trying yours when that mod eventually fails like everyone says it does. could you share how you're mounting the shell? and can you leave it intact or do you have to hack on it a little bit for clearance?

I mounted the body using the existing body mounts on the New Bright body I am using (range rover), I drilled the cc-01 chassis so I could screw the body directly to it and luckily I only had to trim the existing mounts about 1/4" to get the right body height.
I did open the wheel arches a bit at the bottoms to clear the tires, but also reduced the tires so they're the same size as the stock cc-01 tires.
