I beleive he means, that this is the first Jeep he's owned where alot or most parts are not interchangable between models, like the CJs and TJs. Kinda like Subaru, pretty much anything from a new or old Subaru will bolt up (With a little moding if any) Awesome looking build, I totaly have to get that rear link set (At least the mounts so I can run alloy links) Check out RC4WD.com for some cool parts -Tom |

Universal was a name used by Willys and later Kaiser for the CJ family. The use of the name pretty much died with the AMC takeover. Never heard the name applied to a TJ.

Universal Jeep in full scale means any MB, CJ, YJ, TJ or JK short wheelbase Jeep. Truck and wagon Jeeps were called Utility. True the term died with Kiaser, but my paperwork for my WK says 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee WK Utility. I was suspecious of this Mommy WK, since many of them have a life of those stupid stick figure family stickers on the rear window, going back and forth to Wal-Mart and school. I have been pleasently surprised however and she has seen her share of off road use. Not as capable as my TJ, but the room is a nice trade off, and it still rides better than a damn Caravan!

Cool, I have never heard the term "universal" referring to a jeep before.
