Likes: The chassis (super realistic underside), and the overall look of the vehicle. I also like the attitude of most CC01 owners, that "it can be made to work" attitude that inspires modification and experimentation. Dislikes: The stock shocks, the bendy rear links and the lack of an included front diff lock. Jingles. |

I dislike the lack of gearing choices, stock tires are rocks, the transmission cover that is sensitive to improper tightness. Dont mind the plastic links. Never noticed them bending if they do. Love everything else about them. Mostly love how stockishly scale they look and drive. You have to watch where you place a tire to get over obstacle (more challenging to drive). Love the low CG! Love the width-better look on many bodies. mmm, width |

likes: stock scale appearance the "it will work, you just have to make it work." idea like in the old days before anyone could go and buy part off the shelf and be just as good as anyone else dislikes: getting one second hand with a chopped up worn out chassis. |

| Likes: 1) Best value for my hard earned $$$ 2) Love the scale look. 3) Comes with decent light unit to get started with. 4) High potential for customizing suspension, drive-train, bodies, lighting, etc. 5) The only "must have" at time of build is a full bearing set. Otherwise you can have many hours of trail beating before having to worry about upgrades, or improvements. 6) Tires, suspension arms, steering components, are all fine/adequate for getting started. then you can have time to drive the buggy, and decide what you personally would like to upgrade, and save the money for it. 7) Quite a few "direct fit" upgrades available. This chassis seems to lend itself to lots of modding, so that tons of other parts from other manufacturers will fit. Your imagination is your only limiting factor. Dislikes: 1) Steering system could be improved to be tighter, and last longer. 2) Gearing is limited for motor/tranny options. Could use a motor mount with slots to allow for greater choice of gearing and adjustability. |

I have a love/hate relationship with cc-01s. I used to think they were cool, but now I only use them for scale factor, not for performance. Likes: IFS Narrow track width Dislikes: Steering. Still sucks with Aluminum upgrade. Gearing |

what they all said..well all but the rigid axle comment, I don't mind the IFS....with some work and support from us, you can get a pretty good scale rig. Won't jump over trees, but it will get the job done...and if you can run with a axial scale rig, go any where it can...you are a good driver. Meaning, takes practice and makes you think on what your next move. get one, you won't be disapointed...unless you think it will crawl 90 degrees right out of the box. The thing people need to understand is that a scale rig isn't a comp crawler. And an IFS rig probably won't be as good at really gnarly terrain as a solid axle rig. But if you're going to be driving your scale rig over scale terrain, then the CC01 does just fine. That and it's the only (unless you count the Kyosho that's impossible to find) IFS/solid rear chassis on the market and that alone makes it unique. It's not going to out-crawl an SCX10, but it'll follow most of an SCX10's lines. It's still a very capable trail rig and if you're going for the ultimate scale with most modern vehicles, IFS is the way to do it. The steering is sloppy, the bath-tub holds dirt, the gearing options are limited, but you guys have to remember this chassis design is 20+ years old. Tamiya really needs to give us a CC02. But for all it's quarks, the CC01 is still a great, durable chassis to build on. |

The green LR3 in this video is my cc01. Stock chassis except for addition of rc4wd gru. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IzsD7ag1su0 and here too http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uVvERTv2VvQ It is pretty capable for what it is and its one of my favorite rigs. |
