Question GPM Spur gear for CC01- issue?

Does anyone have this installed?

I just tried to install one and ran into issues...

1. The spacers on the shaft are too short, and there is back and forth movement of the spur, allowing it to loose complete contact of the mesh with the idler gear.

2. The included pinion gear's mesh with the spur fits, but it is WAY tight. Like BINDING tight.

I solved #1 by running 2 shims, and it glides silky smooth with no shucking.. #2 is still a major issue.

This is the set I'm trying to install

Did you try moving from the 16T hole to the 20T hole on the motor mount? Thats the only thought I have (or maybe you have the motor bolted on through the wrong (non opposing) holes)

are you using the pinion that came with the kit or the stock one. kinda dumb q but sometimes the biggest problems are solved with the smallest fixes

using the pinion from the gear kit.. they are a completely different pitch and will not work with the stock pitch pinion

This is a disappointment. I have pretty much enough to build another CC-01 minus the tub itself and was thinking the other day about building one using these gears. I wanted to build one slightly lowered with a old Clod body, some beater wheels/tires with chains, and use an 8.5T brushless I have laying around for some winter snow/ice fun. Looks like I'll stick with OEM gears.

Mine fits fine. I did have to use the 20t hole with the smaller pinion included with the set-up though which was odd. But it's in there and meshes fine. Didn't have to shim anything.

I did eventually make it work by swapping the motor position on the mount like said above.. Still had to shim tho...
