| Newbie, tire/wheel question
Just got back into Tamiya RC after about 30 years. Got myself a Toyota Land Cruiser 40 Black edition. Was gluing the wheels on the rims and messed up a bit the glue dried to quick and its not seated right as such the wheel now wobbles. On the Tamiya site spare ones do not have the white letters on the side. Where can I source the same as the stock with writing on, or is there some third party that look nice with writing on, I like the white letter for some reason. RC stuff has moved on so much with ESC rather than mechanical. Very impressed I can drive this rig so slow. No mods yet, but after a few runs today I may lock the rear diff and see if I can soften up the suspension its way to stiff and does not look that real. Back in the day I was a buggy racer kind a guy, now I'm more into making models a making the truck look and move like the real thing. At the moment the stock LED run from a pass through type thing is it possible to have them switch on and off with my remote, which is a Spektrum DX4C Does the CC01 run better with ball bearings, some say its not worth it. Cheers |

Welcome back into RC after all those years Unless your driving your Toyota under water all the time, get some ball bearings. Longer run times are possible and less servicing is necessary. You could try to fix your tire before buying a spare. People either put them in the oven or boil them to get tires back off the rims. Acetone works as well for certain plastic, not sure about the Tamiya rims though and the lettering wouldn't survive either ;) But in general I would recommend buying a set of nice 1.9 bead locks and better tires (the Tamiyas are just too hard) and a Gelly Roll pen to get your white lettering back |

Just seen the JunFac website they have tires and wheels that look very nice. Is anyone running them? Do they just fit on, I can't tell from the picture to well. Do I need to modify anything to make them fit? Like the 1.9 MT 1901 Tire and SR02 or SR03 white wheels |

Whatever wheel you choose, just watch your outer diameter. Although with the Landcruiser, there is a bit more clearance than with the Pajero. Most rims on the market use the standard hex. Now is a good time to upgrade with a softer compound tire. Depending on your use, check RC4WD store, they have a brilliant selection. |
