Just buy a cc01 land cruiser black edition... It s my first class 1 rig... Don't know much about this class so need help... I won't compete by the way, just trail run, but still want to respect the rules... So, I already bought some upgrades: Junfac: -CC01 4-Link suspension conversion with skid plate (J100210) -CC01 Front Skid Plate Kit (J80023) -CC01 spare wheel mount (J80026) -Side Bars (2) (J20029) Others: -Rubber sealed bearing -Alu chub/knuckles -Yeah Racing alu steering bellcrank kit -GPM front cvd kit -Stroke extension link (rear suspension) So that's about it... So now, what I want to know, which tires/beadlocks? 1.55 or 1.9? Are the stocks one with the kit s ok? I have TH tires/beadlocks in stock, will they fit ok? Will surely change the electronic, I already have a wp servo, esc probably HH or Axial... But what about the motor? I read that the stock gearing is quite fast... So should I buy a 55t (2s or 3s?)... Should I buy the hpi gear reduction kit with a 35t,... So I'm a bit lost here... ![]() Last edited by noname0383; 02-05-2015 at 02:46 PM. |

Well, first off, congrats on the purchase. There's a ton of threads here to get info off of. Do a bit of poking around in this section and you'll get the general idea. I wrote a tech thread on these rigs over the summer - might be helpful as well. ![]() As for some of your questions, replacing the stock tires is upgrade number 1. As for 1.55/1.9, that's up to up. I run 1.55's on mine personally, but that's a subjective call. Want to stay 100mm and under with the tire diameter generally for these rigs unless you're ok with cutting up the body. Second, the CC01 is geared fast. Just lower than a touring car, but quite high by today's scaler standards. I run 65t motors in most of mine (2S) and it's great for trail use. It's a good starting point for sure. If you want to go slower or add torque, a GRU is indeed in your future. Depends on how slow you want it to go. Mine on 1.55's ![]() and Slick Rock Vaterra 1.9's ![]() |

Thx man... Yes I did and still doing a lot of reading here and there... Soooo many great builds and videos... Ur rig looks very good... What OD size of those tires? U like them? How s the grip, preforme well? What's ur front bumper and skid? For the tires, I was thinking about the 1.9 Mud Trashers (3.85") or the 1.55 MT MTZ.(3.33")... Excellent tech thread OSRC! But I wonder why I need to google translate the page to see it; otherwise I get the system message : "Sorry. The administrator has banned your IP address. To contact the administrator click here" |

Proline bumper and a homemade skid. Both tires are about 95mm OD. Both work well, don't have a preference really. Glad the tech thead was helpful! |

Nice to see what my CC01 will look like as that is the same kit I have put together. It is a nice looking setup. Too many projects plus still racing 2wd mod buggy weekly plus now being sick don't leave too much time to get my other projects all done.

Update... the kit i bought was finally out of stock cause the online store I bought from sell the same stock online and on ebay... Same for the "normal" land cruiser kit... So after several emails I end up with a fj cruiser and a store credit... Not happy at all but hey, shit happen... So don't know if I'm gonna stick to the fj cruiser or buy the land cruiser body and paint it... |

Oh yeah, and for the tires, I stop my choice on the 1.9 mud thrashers since I already have proline beadlocks in stock... gonna save me some pesos for other parts... ;)

Nice. I love the look of the Scale Doctors. Not sure how they work on the RC4WD BL's though. I tried a quick fit with them awhile back, but gave up and went with Mud Thrashers. Definitely post up any issues getting them mounted up. Curious to see if they actually do fit.

Nice...well, at least it's still in the Toyota family. I had my FJ out this past weekend, had a blast until the steering servo gave up the ghost. Forgot how capable these rigs can be.

Any particular reason why they don't fit rc4wd beadlock? Its not the first time I heard this... Do they fit some beadlocks or only glue on wheels? ![]() Put my rc4wd order on hold for now.. | |

The bead is too thick for the steely type BL. It's possible they might work on bead clamping types(with rings like Axial). You could also reach out to Daniel at SDI and ask if there any issues with specific BL's. He's very good at responding within 24 hrs. |

Ok... I had time to work on this rig... wasn't very complicated to build tho... Put some weight in the wheels and some on the skid plate... So let the pics speaks for themselves... Last edited by noname0383; 02-05-2015 at 05:47 AM. |
