I LOVE this rig.... I think that this is one the baddest if not THE baddest LCC I've ever seen... I really dig the hell out of that paint... I gotta know, How did you pull that off. I really like the look of the paint job.

I'm runnig CI foam all around. Eddie recommend using 5.25 foam but I feel they don't fill well the tire so I use 5.5. I'm running front hard/soft and the same in the rear but today I've worked on my rear tire. I wanted to remove all the side lugs first with a cutting plier and maybe later with a belt sander. The side lugs on the rear don't show any wear so I've cut them and I did the same job than the front on the other lugs. Removing the side lugs really soften the tire so I've put a medium outer on the rear instead of the soft one. I'll try that.

As for the shock I went back to 40 in front and 35 in the rear, it feels better.

Finally get some white rover too, I can finally get rid of those pink rover. Khaos are on their way, they shouldn't be so far right now

I will go plastic if only it was strong, I had enough buyin 3 gear for just one spur but you go with hr stuff you should get some high quality pinion or it will be the weak point.

The front axle is much more laborious that I've start with the rear

Losi axle are the most sexy shafty axle imo.

Time to get dirty

My worm show much wear that I've seen here in the past few days.

Fresh n clean

A shot of the rear CDW weight mount

A mod to do, much more smoother than non sanded hex.

Tada!

One last thing to do and it will be ready to eat some rocks. Can't wait to start to wear out the edge of my rover

I will check it, but I'm no scaler I know that there's some scale using lcc axle in the scale section in the forum, you may find some usefull tips

Here's my take on the electronic tray, enough for today.
I wanted something a bit more compact to keep the bec less exposed. Also decided to go with the stock cap on the rs because so far 3s is enough, the PRT motor give me far enough wheelspeed and the maxamps battery can give amps when needed so I feel like a a big cap is not needed.

V2.0

The bec and the rx sits a bit high but that's the only way to get the smallest footprint. I don't like when double sided tape become loose and then cable can be rip by the spur I used a ziptie plus usual double sided tape secure everything.

Hey guys, I'm looking for a delrin ball or alluminum that could fit the stock upper link rod end. I've seen something like that a long time ago but I can't put my end the thread. Thanks

Rpm makes delrin ones for associated shocks.

I use on my xr front links with losi rod ends.

If you want aluminum you could try touring car stuff. Look for 6mm balls.

Hope that helps.

Really nice metal gears you got there!!! Just a question, are you using them because your plastic failed or it’s just as a good upgrade to get your rig sharper???
I’m using my stock plastic with no problems yet, anyway I’m making a stock with metal gears little by little just to do a rebuild like you when I get some time to work on it, but not comp here yet, so I use my rig no so hard I think, just backyard use and some spot I have around home.
So Alexus keep your detailed building rocking boy, it’s a great inspiration for guys like me with no too much time to enjoy the hobby, someday the day will come!!!

I upgraded my gear when I was running the holmes hobbies revolver ( outrunner brushless) this motor was cogging badly on startup and had not enough wheelspeed but had some torque to share. I went thru 2 spur gear in a few week. It's hard to find parts here in Belgium and order from outside take a bunch of time to come du to customs. I don't like when my truck cannot run I want it to be ready for any opportunity of driving this thing.
I've to agree that hr stuff are notch top notch the spur gear is not spinning really true so you better some high quality pinion, no aluminum.

No comp here yet too, but IMO crawler is the most addictive category of rc car, I've been thru 1/10 touring car, 1/10 off road 4x4 4x2 stadium and short course, mini z, 1/8 nitro and brushless buggy but they all finish sold ( still got one truggy, but I haven't drive this beast yet so his future is not sure) But for my lcc is another story sounds like a love story

Here's a shot of the truggy hot bodies d8 hara converted with a tekno rc d8t kit.

Anyway thank for posting

Alex

Yes Alex I must agree with you that there is no other RC categories that be as addictive as rock crawler is!!! You know living in “almost the end of the world” Patagonia Argentina I also must agree with you about the waiting time I have to deal with I need something from USA where all the cool stuff is, at least 3 weeks or more, no speak about the tremendous difference between dollars and pesos argentines, just x 4.30, at least you have the euro, so you get more stuff for less money, right???
Anyway the cool part of it is RC Rock Crawler means the same all around the world, a very addictive hobby!!!! But nice!!!
So Alex, thanks for shearing, keep rocking and see you soon!!!
