Any three channel will do. For quality, my order would be Futaba, Spektrum and FlySky. Which also happens to be the order of price. If you want middle quality, middle price, I'd look at Futaba 3PL or Spektrum DX3C for about $100. Factor in cost of extra receivers if you expect to have multiple cars now or someday.

You would want any 3 channel with a 3 position switch. And have epa adjustments. The lcc dig is know to fry servos

Most 3-channel radios (at the lower end of the cost envelope) come with only two positions on the 3rd channel. When they do have three positions, there's most likely no EPA on that channel. It's better to have two positions with EPA than three positions without. | |

The point is...the EPA is important because if you cannot control the length of the dig servos throw you will burn up the servo quickly. It just takes a small movement to control the dig in the LCC. The Futaba 4PL is a great radio (Sorry, Futaba fanboy here, I have one for my scaler, just need channels 1 and 2), but Channel 3 is 2 position (with EPA). Hardlines good point - receivers are pricey The Spektrum DX3C has a 3 position 3 channel, but not sure about the EPA. I'd be surprised if it does not have chan 3 EPA, since Losi was in bed with Spek. Personal opinion, I am not a huge Spektrum fan. Hardlines good point - medium priced receivers FlySky will be able to what ever you want and then some. Heard good things, just no personal experience. Never even held one. Hardlines good point - cheap receivers. But to answer your original question of best radio to get the dig working (and not read between the lines). Yes, more expensive but, I think that the be Futaba 4pk is the best radio...all around. All my vehicles (from go-fasts to go-slows) seemed to wake up. I knew that I was going to get deep into this hobby so I bit the bullet and it has been the best RC purchase I have made. HANDS DOWN! Sorry so long, Hope it helps. On a 4PL you can program switches DT-3 or DT-4 (located where the left thumb rests on the grip) for 3 positions (with EPA) and assign them to function as ch 3 or ch4. Receivers are available for $35. Last edited by anuthabubba; 10-03-2013 at 01:35 PM. Reason: Location of switches. |
