You've got me lost there somewhere...

Counting it your way the driveshaft to idler is 26/33, and then idler to motor is 33/[pinion], so total gearing driveshaft to motor is
(26/33) * (33/[pinion]) = 26/[pinion]

Same equation for the LCC tranny:
Driveshaft to dig axle 40/33
Dig axle to idler 33/46
Idler to motor 46/[pinion]
Driveshaft to motor
(40/33) * (33/46) * (46/[pinion]) = 40/[pinion]

The key is that all gears beween the motor and drive shaft are just idlers that transfer the rotation tooth for tooth.

Since 26<>40 there's quite a difference.

To make it "right" you could change the tranny a bit:
- The 26T gear on the drive shaft is moved to in front of the front plate.
- That gear is driven by a 26T gear on the middle axle, which is moved upwards and to the right.
- On the middle axle, between the plates, you mount a 40T gear which will be the spur gear.

Now you have the same gearing as the LCC tranny.

And you lost me lol

The final drive of this GB is 0.79 and the LCC is 0.86 I believe and the LNC 1.2? (forget the last digit)

So unless im missing something this gearbox will have a bit more reduction over the LCC??

Maybe guys wants a faster GB?? maybe a 1:1 ratio?? I know the LNC tranny is too tall so maybe a 1:1 could be the go... I could do a direct drive, say two 31t gears (i'll need to check clearance in CAD) LMK as im happy to change to meet the requests of the masses

No, it has less reduction.

The key part is that both in your gearbox and in the LCC tranny the cog wheels between the pinion and the drive shaft doesn't alter the gearing one bit since they just transfer the rotation (cog teeth per second) at a 1:1 ratio.

In regular gearboxes (like the LNC tranny) you typically have two cog wheels of different size mounted on the same axle to get an actual gearing.
Typically it can be a 60T spur driving a 20T output at the same rpm, thus reducing the teeth-per-second from that axle at a 3:1 ratio which will make the next gear move slower.

Oh well this will make it far easier now I can relate the two lol.. Thanks for pushing the issue man I feel like a dick for not seeing it earlier

Are there going to be any of these at the Nat's? Running actual losing axles.

Edit: stupid auto correct meant losi.
