It's a cool and interesting approach to competing. Definately seems worth checking out.

Intresting for sure.

Chaotic possibly.

Scoring yourself? I don't trust anyone

100 gates? It needs to be a big area... but alot of bang for the buck

Maybe we try it for our cookout comp this year?

That's an idea. We would def. have to hammer out some details. I like the idea of pitting, especially on an insanely long course, but change tires, springs, eat lunch, walk the course, seems a little far fetched to me. I would suggest leaving the clock running during pit stops. This way you keep things flowing and it makes the driver decide if the time you would lose to do more than change a battery would be worth it or not.

I can't believe more people don't do this. Here in north Texas (almost in the panhandle) we created a 15minute ish course. Half the Crawlers race to the end with the other half being that cars monitor with the timer and penalty counters. Its a straight course but is probably 400' long in the bottom of a creek. Pretty fun.

Ya'll have some great locations (Ocoee, Ft. Loudon, and a few others) for long courses for these types of events...we just don't have what it would require here in SC.

Yeah, I don't think this format should replace our current comp format. I think it would be fun to do for a gtg or something that doesn't count towards season points.

On scoring yourself, I *think* most of the ETRC guys would be honest about it, many of us call our own penalties now anyway

100 gates is a lot, but they could be much closer together than our normal comp gates.

With a total time limit for the day I see no reason to keep people on the clock during pits, everyone just has to be done by a set time. Remember that there will be a lot of people on course at the same time.

I have to agree with you 100 percent. I like the cookout idea, because that's more of a goof off day anyway, and this format would be easier for the people cooking. I know last year I was trying to get a couple of courses in first, and you had burgers coming off the grill before I even got the pickles started.

On the pitting, I guess I read into the time limit deal wrong. I was looking at it as more of a "time counts" type thing I guess, so yeah, just be done by x:00 and you're good.

On the 100 gates, looks like I need to go buy some more tennis balls.

i like the rules set up for a gtg event too! I know for a fact I could get close to 100 gate course at Church Ridge! That place has possibilities in every direction so as long as gates are numbered it wouldn't have to be a straight line at all. Its warm and daylight longer now so I'll be thinking about this when I go scaling there. You should come check it out again with me Lush!!! Bring da 6fitty wich ye!!!

I agree with you on that. We were there for hours and still had more. This is sounding like a good time!
