| Who still using PL Hammer tires?
I have mounted 2.2" Pro-Line Hammer tires on my SCX10 Dingo truck and added extra weight to the wheels. I really like them. I see many people running newest tires, are the new tires really better? So far mines are doing really well.

Last Generation, but still awesome tires: Proline Hammer Proline Badland Losi Rock Claw In fact, I've got some Badlands on the way! The older generation of tires doesn't perform quite as well, but fairly close. And the real benefit is when you need a smaller 2.2 tire. |

Better for my scale truck... rock, dirt, mud... Mines are doing very well but it doesn't me stop to look for something better if it does exist |

I thought the biggest difference was in the size. The PL Hammers are around 5 inches tall, whereas the rovers are closer to 5 1/2". On a larger truck, it would be similar to going from a 33 inch tire to a 37 inch tire. BIG difference in capability just because of the size. I love the hammers' traction, but I really wish I had the extra ground clearance. I've got panther leopards on the way for just that reason.

I'm currently running Hammers with narrowed Panther 400 foams on my Wreckluse. I've always liked the Hammers for general use, and with the new foams I gained close to half an inch in height. I cut about 3/8" off the width of the 400's to get a narrower profile and to add some height. I haven't tried the new setup yet, but I should see a major improvement in grip and sidehill ability.

I used Hammers for a long time. I recently went to Chisels and I really miss my Hammers, LOL! The taller Chisels changed the way my rig performs. I think I'm gonna mount the Hammers back on some old Axial beadlocks and keep them with me when I crawl.

| Please make a 5.5" G8 Hammer!!
Hammers are my favorite tire of that generation of crawler tires. Not a fan of the Chisel. I wish PL would make a 5.5" G8 Hammer. Offer them with 2-stage foam, oversize mem foam or oversize standard foams in the package. I'd buy a few sets.

My wifes ARTR Axial is still sporting the hammers that came on it.. I love the look of these tires.. I've got a great low COG setup on that rig and still using the stock memory foams and it sidehills incredibly well.. Very stable. The G8 compound is supposed to be very good right? If the hammers are made in this compound I might actrually try some.. I drive a droop rig so I don't care about ground clearance the newer/taller tires give you, I like to keep it low.
