Default ** NEW** 1.9 Dlux Delrin Wheels

I was excited when Erik asked me to test out his new wheels for the 1.9. The design of the wheels is something new to me. Once I became familiar with them they were a snap to put together. The beads fit cleanly and tight in the bead locks. I like the ability to adjust the width of your wheels with ease, just swap out the internal spacers. With the design I was easily able to fit two thicker knuckle weights on each wheel. I will have to test out what weight will work best for me. I usually run a lot of weight in my wheels. My original set up I ran 8.7 oz. in each front wheel and 5.6 oz. in each rear. The new wheels weigh 2.9 oz. for each front and 3.1 oz. for each in the rear. With the knuckle weights it puts the front up to 8.1 oz. for each side. Close to what I usually run. I have to look at how to add some weight to the rear. I have a comp this weekend so I will have an opportunity to give them a proper testing. I am using 600 SLW hubs in the front and 475 SLW hubs in the rear. The front width is 7 ½ in and the rear is 7in. I like that you can use whatever SLW hub to get the width that works best for you.
More to come!

Narrow spacer on left wide on right.

Front with 600 SLW hub with narrow spacers. 7 1/2in. width in front.

Rear with 475 SLW hubs and wide spacer. 7 in width in rear.

MOTORAMA here I come.

Thanks for posting up John! Everything looks great!

Just to clarify, the above weights are Tire, wheel and foam, correct? I never did get just a measurement of the wheel weight. I am guessing around 1oz?

Yes, that is the weight for the wheel, tire and foam. The wheels alone weigh between 1.2 oz. and 1.5 oz depending on which set up you are using.

Had the last comp of the season with the GSRCRC guys. I was very impressed with the wheels. They worked very well. I had some issues with my rig but from what I saw these are a solid quality wheels. Some of the other drivers were very interested in the ability to change the width of your tires to suit your needs.

The weights in the front are the DLUX LCC knuckle weights, I did the mod to run the LCC knuckles and C-hubs on my MRC. I really like them. The mod really makes the front more stout.

Had a chance to get out to my local testing spot, St. Peters while the weather is still "warm". The wheels continue to impress. With the knuckle weights it sidehills like a champ. I tweaked the weights a bit and ran some weight in the front wheels and it helped with forward bite and grip. I am running the narrow spacer in the front and that little bit of height helped get the front clear of things that would have pinched the servo against the rocks in the past.

Here are some pics of what I did to get some weight in the wheels. For the time being I double faced taped in the wheel a knuckle ring weight. I wanted to try this before I drilled into the solid beadlock face. The ring added 1.3 oz to the wheel. I think that this will be a good solution for those who still want some weight in their wheels.

Now the wheel weighs in at 4.3 oz.

with the ring on the wheel and the knuckle weight, I am up to 7.7 oz. in the front on each side.

I am still tinkering. What do you think of using the rings on the wheel? I was using what I had. The narrow wheels are difficult to use the automotive stick on wheel weights.

well first of all, where did you get the knuckle weights? ive been looking for them! in my point of view 7.7 is to heavy, espeaccially when you rig is prob 3-4pds, thats basically a pd and a hlaf more than with out weights
btw ,those wheels look beast!

I have always run a heavy rig. Just a personal perference. The knuckle weights are made by Dlux for the LCC. I did the mod to convert the MRC to LCC C-hubs and knuckles. I also run the LCC outer CVD/MRC inner shaft. It is still a WIP as fat as the weight setup. I am sure I will end up making it lighter as I tweak and test the best set-up for me.

Took some weight out and it climbed and sidehilled much better than before.

You EPARCC guys sure know how to build your rigs! That thing looks great Jslick, and so does the terrain.

Thanks guys, the wheels are very durable and light, a great combo. I took several big falls today with no issues as all.

I am looking forward to a release date for these as well. I just picked up another MRC and I am looking to build this one up even better than my GC3. These rims seem like they're the better solution to a lot of problems.

I'm sorry if I missed it, but when will these be released?

I'm local in West Chester as well. I've been to St. Pete's a ton to just walk around on the rocks. I hadn't considered taking my truck there.

EDIT: I goofed. I'm looking for the 2.2s.
