Default Crawler Innovations SS closed cell foam for Pitbull 1.9's

Got some goodies from Eddie at Crawler Innovations to test out..

Single stage Closed cell foams for the Pitbull Rockbeast 1.9's..

They are 3 3/4in tall and 1 1/2in wide.
Grooves machined into the center.

Pitbull tire with New single stage closed cell foam...see how much flex the carcass has.
Has No,sidewall roll at all.
These foams will allow for more highspeed stability while still allowing some light rock work.

2 stage 4.25 narrow closed cell inner with soft outer..see how much farther the carcass flexes..

ill get them all mounted up and I hope to go do some testing today.

From what I hear Eddie has got a few more goodies just for The Recon G6 and terra-x races..stay tuned!

Ran them out in my rock garden for a few minutes on the 2win banger..
A little light rock work..

Use of a lil speed to get up some stuff was needed where as the dual stages I could slow crawl but had lots of sidewall roll..+/-.

Little to No sidewall roll
squares up the tire
should be perfect for G6 Terra-x races

Like I told eddie..scale of 1-10..
1 being more for crawling and 10 being more for highspeed.
7-8 out of 10

The pitbulls just bite so well its hard to judge sometimes.

may to try these on the new 1.9 sx's xl's..

wow..
these foams are the schizznit!

While other foams were folding over in the turns...these kept tracking straight and holding shape.

I ran the 2 heat races.
Let the Boss (Eddie) run the main. 2nd to last lap driveshaft let go..
and Eddie was in the lead.

Oh well,cant win them all.

I just put these foams in the PBs on my honcho. It's used for crawling and trail running. The turning and side hilling ability is incredible and forward traction is still VERY good. Since the foams are waterproof I wasn't so hesitant to vent the tires. First time I've ever done that, haha! The foams are so stiff I don't know that venting even does much but this truck sees big altitude changes and I didn't want them ballooning at all.

yes these foams are for trailing not for rock. tried with no avail to make the rock pile with these foams and these are not for crawling. trailing yes. rocks no. will be changing out the foams in a day or two. ill have to save these for a trail run or a g6 if we have one here in wa.

i did roll around on some of the dirt sections and logs etc. they work well for that for sure.

I spent all day Sunday with my Honcho on natural ledge formations with these foams in my PB's that were already broken in. The turning ability and side hilling is incredible, that alone makes them pretty darn good for crawling. VERY stable and predictable. Forward traction is good too. I made some very steep lines that other PB equipped trucks with softer foams struggled with.

All in all, my experience so far has been that they have VERY MUCH improved the ability of my truck on the rocks.

I know I know this is not a crawler so please don't bann me for life just had to get my two cents in on these foams lol. I run these foams in my SC pit bulls and they are wicked sweet tread lays flat, fit in tire perfect ,I really cant even explain how they perform really hook up great. Of course the the pit bull tires are in class all of there own unbelievable for a scale looking tire out perform my pin tires hands down on my lose dirt track

Eddie sent me a set of them to try out as well. The St. Louis G6 was my first opportunity to try them, and I was extremely pleased with them. They are a bit stiffer than the dual stage, but I can honestly say I had NO problems with traction anywhere on the course(s). My truck weighs 7 1/2 lbs RTR, lighter trucks may have more of a loss of slow crawling traction. Overall, I am very impressed, and will definitely continue running them on my G6 rig!
Sorry, I don't have many pictures of it with the new foams, this is right before the G6 started:

BTW, it was great getting to meet you Josh.

had a hard time deciding between running 2 stage ci lil novas and these single stage foams. went with the single stage foams. these do not dissapoint. my inital tests were flawed. reboot. 2013 NW Scale Championships, got to use these in a real comp. man such killer traction. and sidehill abilities are outstanding. these worked very well as we had a mix of terrain. although i didnt do as well as i wanted to due to a slipped pinion gear and a stripped grub screw and cost me 3 repairs on one course and 1 on another so my scores were bad. they were great runs up till that point. my slipped pinion is right after the crusher hops up sideways, the breakover the rocks is right after. 3 repairs with 30 points and 3 min added to teh score didnt help at all. ill include a lil vid.

BTW the crusher is a 9lb 6oz tank.

go to 7:15 and watch from there. thats my landcrusher and my ugly mug with ci single stage foams and pitbull RB2's.

I ran these new foams in the Pits today at a park my family goes to and they are awesome. Ive been running the stock foams that came with them because I was too lazy to take the tires off the glue on wheels. I got these foams and finally had the motivation needed to take the tires to a next level. I don't do any rock crawling with my scalers, only trail runs with the fam and these new foams performed flawlessly. Best thing done for the tires to help them to perform at optimum level in my area
