I prefer the term "not actively disclosing" instead of "hide".

The big ticket items always come in on the dl, not because I need permission, but because I don't want to hear her sticker shock freak out.

Sissy!

Any rc crap I buy comes out of money in my pocket that I worked/horsetraded/sold other parts for so I buy it and she gets to find out what it is when the boxes start showing up.

There are a couple d lux housings and some hardened gears along with some special pink stickers on their way to my house since I saw his black friday add this am.

Roasted.

I only buy RC stuffs with money from side jobs.

I do a lot of side jobs.
The best thing? I typically make 300-500 in 4-6 hours with them.

Nearly, the hex was slightly deeper, so when bolted to my SCX10 they hit the knuckles, nothing a little work with a grinder/dremel/file/lathe can't fix and to be expected at such a cheap price.

Coping other peoples stuff is flat out BULL SHIT!!!...if you can't come up with your own design then don't make anything. The people that go out and get the MFG's ok to make their stuff and get the licences to do it have to charge more, more because of their dealer programs etc, also some MFG's get a kickback for each unit sold. I will bet some of you people don't even know the ropes of being in Business. To have some piece of shit US company or Overseas company not do their homework or go out and get the Licensing and put the time in but just buys a product and then goes and copies it makes you a POS...

OFF Road Unlimited of AZ actually went to my web site and copied my web pic of a product I designed years back and put it in a magazine and told people that they made them and sold them......That was a BULL SHIT move on there part, and I should have sued their ASS for it. But stupid me talked to the owner and worked it out.

If I would have sued their ASS OFF maybe people like that would think twice before doing what they did or people coping people.

On the flip side, nothing is forever. As I say about business, don't get mad, just step up your game. As Americans, we're spoiled. We have patents that protect or designs. Basically we've paid someone to protect us. The rest of the world could care less. The free market is a fabulous thing until it's our toes that get stepped on. China reproduces and copies everything, this is nothing new.

You step up your game when someone makes something better than you, not when they steal the idea or design that you own.

That's like saying that we are spoiled because it's illegal to walk into someones home and walking out with personal belongings.

Do you even understand what the term "free market" is? Apparently not...

You can argue the ethics of copying someone elses work, but it is the free market in the purest sense.

  1. an economic system in which prices are determined by unrestricted competition between privately owned businesses.

In the firearm world there's all sorts of cheap Chinese knockoffs for Aimpoint, EOTech and ACOG sights. People spending $50 for the knockoff were never going to spend the $500 for the real deal, in exchange they get something of inferior quality, seems like a wash to me. You really need to start worrying when they can produce the same quality stuff for 1/4 the price.

Lol all I can say is most all of the wheels I see for sale...locked up, vanquish, ssd, etc...all look nearly identical and everyone is copying everyone. Rc4wd has the best selection out there. Support and buy what you like and keep in wheelin. I know I did and I'm happy with then

You don't understand "free market" either.

All it means is that market price is not regulated by an agency (a business or government entity). Example: Company A makes a product and sells it for $5, while Company B makes a similar (but different) product and sells it for $3.

It does not mean you can freely copy and distribute other peoples products or designs.

Basically everyone that's talking about it isn't fair to copy anything needs to take a good long hard look at everything under the hood do their cars and around their house...just how much is there that's copies of copies? A lot and that's guaranteed....
