| 1.9 tire recommendations taller than 4.7
expecting my new 1.9 beadlocks...replacing the stock bfg 1.9 x 4.7 on my CRC edition SCX10 rubicon. So many choices....but doesn't seem like there is are many 1.9 tires taller than a 4.7. If you know any please suggest, thanks! |

There are lots of options that are 4.75 inches but not many if you want to go beyond that. Not exactly scale but 4.9 inches tall Ruptures - 1.9 |

The best 1.9 tires I've used are the Pit Bull Growlers and the ProLine TSL XL. The Ottsix Voodoo KLRs are another popular choice, but I haven't tried them. |

To be fully honest, your CRC already comes with a fantastic set of tires. They are easily overlooked because stock tires tend to be terrible and the BFGs are stock tires. However, my suggestion to you would be to just buy new foams instead and keep the BFGs. I have over a year on mine...great all around tire and even better in the rocks. Also going too tall hurts your center of gravity...id rather keep it fairly low and loose some ground clearance, than be higher up and roll over all the time. I run Crawler Innovations single stage foams for the Mad Beast in my BFGs....give the tire and foam some break in time and then you will really notice a difference, especially in sidehilling/off camber. Plenty of other good tire options available though. |

4.75" is about the limit for 1.9s, unless you want to make your own. Lots of good options in this range though.. I like the JConcepts Scorpios and Proline tsl-sx XL a lot as well.

If you wanna get through some sticky mud often, TSL. For any other kinda trailing and crawling, Baja claws, iroks or KLRs.

Sorry, I did forget about the growlers and the rock beasts. The growlers, iroks and Baja claws will ball up quickly in sticky mud though.

I have had my growlers packed full of mud/loose dirt and they still are unstoppable. Give the throttle a little blirp and they are clean. I am learning that less aggressive tread pattern tires make for a more precise handling rig.

The RC4WD Compasses are tall tire, not extremely aggressive, and work really well with 4.5" Lil' Novas.
