ive never owned a set of VP wheels in 10 years, but if they made those in 1.9 i would break that record. also VP media blasts all there products to hide the machine marks for a uniform finish. hince the textured/dull finish on everything.

I personally like the finish of the gray set I have. I'm an older guy and the finish is spot on if you were ever fortunate enough to have seen a brand new set of Halibrand magnesium wheels . Bob

The 1.55 5 slot wheels from RPP have a wicked bead blasted finish...just like the originals used to have. https://www.rpphobby.com/product_p/gea1006.htm A set of black or chrome scale lugs and this wheels looks the part. I was told you can also get a similar finish on polished wheels using oven cleaner and only keeping it on there for a short time and then washing it off. | Re: Favorite Scale Wheel Raw, to me, is raw aluminum which is what you see from most of the high end wheels manufacturers. I will take a few tool marks with my shiny aluminum over dull aluminum any day! I can't say I even remember those wheels. I'm 40 so maybe they were before my time? |

| Re: Favorite Scale Wheel Awesome rims. Beans and slots are nice but kinda common and there is nothing wrong with that. I picked up and still have my Halibrand Torque Thrust D's in 16x10 6 lug from a AA gasser from Rods West in 1997 for $650. Even if you double that $$ your to far off for me to sell them. I'll snap a pic tonight for some wheel porn. |

seriously haha i feel like "the young'un" no offense... but yeah this is a mature forum for sure (not like that, you sickos). i like it here, i think i'll stay a while too. one of my favorite magnesiums, though not scale, and not offroad-ish... okay while not actual magnesium, you CAN get them in 1/10 scale... and i probably will nab a set or two for my drift car builds... perfect for AE86!
