They are an unlicensed Mickey Thompson Baja Pro X copy... Of course there are plenty of unlicensed R/C tires out there, but RC4WD just recently released this in a licensed version, and in 2 sizes. The rubber compound may be really good - Sweep makes good tires for other niches of R/C! |

OK, this is getting weird... RC4WD first released their licensed Mickey Thompson Baja Pro X in 2 sizes, then Sweep RC released their "Triple Lug" tires that are very similar - but not quite exact copies. NOW, in the pics of the new (admittedly kinda cool) JConcepts JCI Tucked 1989 Ford F-250 crawler body - lookie here! ANOTHER take on the tread design of the Baja X Pro... |

Any idea what wheels are on that JConcepts Ford? I've had some ideas that could use something like those. I looked on JConcepts site and saw something similar called, appropriately, the Hazards, but they're different. |

JConcepts has a habit of showing wheels and tires on promo shots for other products that are not yet released, often for several months or more. The Colt wheels were shown well in advance, as were the Bounty Hunter and Land Mine tires. I will say that they have so far only released plastic wheels, so those Hazards will not be likely to be metal. |

I pre-ordered mine yesterday. Yellow dots (soft) are scheduled to be available 3/20 while the Gold dots (super soft) became available today. I will share more info on the yellow dots once I receive them.

Regarding the JConcepts tires - I found a much larger image of the recent tucked Ford body and got a close-up shot of the sidewalls of their as-yet unannounced version of the Mickey Thompson Baja Pro X tires... (that seem to be the hot new design to release in 1/10th scale, either licensed or not ) Looks like they're going to be called "JConcepts Tusks" - and once I read that, I did a search - and found some YouTube references from USTE 2021 to them (they should be coming in in 3.93" and 4.75" O.D versions) as well as another new tire that will be called "Hunks" (basically an unlicensed TSL Super Swamper style tire - also coming in those same sizes) and - guess what, those wheels on the Ford look like they are likely to be their first metal beadlock release - called "Hazzards". Close-up of 1.9" Hazzard aluminum beadlock with Tusk 4.75" tire: |

Cool, more tire options. Those tusks appear to have a pretty open tread design. For the mix of mud and rock I regularly run, that is ideal Tusks and Hunks....lol |

Looking forward to hearing more about the Sweeps tires once someone has them in hand. My touring tires (super soft) literally stick together out of the package, and absolutely hooked up on my drag car. Seems like they would make a great crawler compound. Man, those Hazzard wheels look fantastic. Far better than the RC4WD version they had a few years back. They were basically flat faced. These have some nice depth to them. |
