I split this post off from where you had it and gave it its' own post if your just making a chassis, something thats flat plates on each side( like how a TXT is or a BULU or a stock TLT,etc.etc) then you can just use nuts and bolts. The only reason you would need to braze it, is if you are making a tube chassis for it |

Thnx man! well you see all I'm going to do is rebuild the stock chassi in aluminum, but make the front part look just like the back part so that I can mount the rear part both in the front and the back so that I can have 4wd. Ofcourse I'll make a rectangular cut for the steering servo. Is that good enough or does it need to be more complex? Oh and also r there any esc's that can handle two 55t lathe motors? cause the evx only handles 25-15t I believe it was. Or how do you guys do 4wd(with a motor at each end) with your rigs?

As far as the chassis goes, you should be fine with what you're describing. How thick is the material you are going to use for the chassis? Last edited by BENDER; 06-16-2005 at 07:06 PM. | |

uhm right now I'm not sure but it's defenately going to be around 5/8"-3/8" and maybe but I don't think so 1/2" caus thats to bulky and heavy, and the material will be aluminum. and maybe a little steel.

well now that one plan I had is useless because of some little mods if been thiking about but that one is still a possibility, right now I only got a lilbit of the center piece done. wich the center piece is where i'm ganna mount every piece of the main frame on. it's very simple and heavy for it's size i'd say the piece weighs in at about 1/4-1/2 lbs. right now it's useless to post pics. cause tomorow i should be going to homedepot and picking up some rods and aluminum plates for the chassis and i'll prob. have to make skid plates too. so as soon as i start mounting stuff into the center piece i'll start posting pics, for now i gatta think of a way to connect the main chassis to the front and rear using links. and thats why i said i'm probably ganna need to make my own skids to mount the links to and i'm thinking of making my own A-arms too. but anyways here is a pic. ok here u go i re-sized it.

ok it's been re-sized, anyway I messed up on the center piece man, i jus noticed that one of the sides is longer than the other so i have to get even more plates now and painstakingly bend the damn thing perfect, then i'll braze it if necesary. and aluminum is the best for making chassis right?
