| Metal Band Saw ?'s
Anyone have any exp with sears on these saws? They seem to make a good product and this one is a great price for what you get. Any suggestions or concerns? http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/produ...00&tab=spe#tab |

I am pretty sure that Sear band saw is designed for wood only because of the higher speeds. Speed Capability - 2 speed Speed Range FPM - 1450/3000 fpm A good alternative would the the Harbor Freight one. Blade speeds: 80, 120, 200 FPM http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=37151 Here is a good thread on band saws: Metal cutting Band Saws? |

I am in search of a vertical one with a table top, they work better for what I do. I have a tubing notcher, bender and chop saw for roll cage stuff, so I don't need that kind of a saw. They just opened a HF in billings, but that is 245 miles from me. Guess I will go online and look some more. :( | |
