After a few experimental joints, the Harris Al-Braze 1070 might just be the ticket! The 1070 stands for 1070*F, and since Aluminum melts at 1220*F (did a little more research on that), it only leaves a small range of work time there. But if you time it just right, with "slow" heat, the two will actually bond into a strong joint. This is joint #3 and #4 for me. They aren't the prettiest, but they are solid and strong. Dam camera flash actually makes them look worse than they actually are. Maybe after a few dozen test joints, I will start to get the hang of it. Last edited by Robb; 06-09-2006 at 08:59 PM. |
