I would use flux core welder. It be ideal if you have shielding gas instead of flux core.

Ok first question.... what type of welder? I like hard wire. Flux will be real messy. 2nd question Do you have a Co2 bottle for your welder? If answer is no then you will be stuck with Flux. | |

As for the brake line , brazing is a little easier , less chance of blowing the tube apart, the fit needs to be a lil tighter but jsut saying.

Ok, so I think I'll actually go with a brazing set up, looks like that will be less expensive. Thanks for the help!

As a fab guy, you can do the brake line with flux core mig. The best and only fluxcore to use is Lincon. I have fabbed many 5/16inch bumpers that have winches mounted on them and it works great. For brake line you will need to practice. Thin metal is a bitch to weld, atleast for me. I weld nothing thinner then 1/4inch.

ok i am a full time fabricator i weld sheet metal to inch thick metals of all kinds and really a flux core is a dirty weld and in my opinion was less strength and more of a likly hood to blow throug the brake line. A mig with .25 wire and shielding gas preferably 75/25 on a 110 welder is ur best bet but u need experience with thin metals to get nice welds . Brazing is a great way to do brake line or even better if u can get your hands on one is a tig welder but do not recommend you do this if u have no experience (unless u have a ton of brakeline lol) just a heads up from a person who knows their shit when it comes to welding and metals i do it all day every week no offense to any one on here best of luck too
